In desperate need of computer help.

I own a Inspiron 6000 laptop. Lately, I've only been able to stay online for about 10 minutes before the WiFi connection kicked out. It tells me it can't connect to the network and I have to restart before it decided to work again. Also, laptop freezes randomly. Sometimes, it freezes several times a day, other times only once. I have no idea why it's running. It's not adware or anything like that and it's not any new programs I have.

Someone, if you can, please help. Until this gets fixed, I can't do my college apps or my AP Politics homework and that is really bad. And by "bad", I mean I'm starting to cry every time I crashes.

I'm no expert, all I can guess is that you have a program that is incompatable with your computer, like maybe a Windows update that doesn't mesh with your firewall or anti-virus.

I don't know what you've tried and haven't, but here's what I would try for starters:

1. Scan your hard drive for errors
2. Defragment the hard drive
3. Install Windows Defender (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=435BFCE7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en)
4. Remove malicious software (http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx)

Have you been getting any error messages? What happens exactly? What programs are you using when it happens?
