Mildly unrelated, but I've checked the internet and news every day since the Olympics started, hoping Canada had gotten a medal yet, and they still haven't. I'm so preemptively discouraged this year that I don't think I've watched a single event.

Agreed. The Phelps madness is annoying me.

Is it wrong of me to want him to fail a drugs test? Think of it - he wins all 8, gets all 8 world records, and there's all the fawning and stuff... then he pisses out something he shouldn't have...

It's only a small part of me that wants that... x)

there's a part of me that says: hey he's earned some of the glory, and some time in the spotlight.

but a huge part (like, 89%) of me says: Hey! what about all those other kids who worked their asses off to make it past the auditions and practiced for years to get where they are?
