Intro Post

This LJ is...

banner by me, do not take

... Mostly. About a third of the entries are FLocked and all the RPS fic is under lock. If you'd like to be friended, comment here and specify whether you're here for fic or not, just so I know.

ETA (December 30, 2008): I no longer write RPS. I'm deeply into the video gaming fandom now. You can find my past RPS work at [livejournal.com profile] fakenews_fanfic. Only RL stuff is locked now, really.

Oh man... okay. I really don't want to start a whole bunch of wank, and I wish there were some way I could send this to you both privately and anonymously, but there's not, so I have to leave it as a comment on an unlocked entry. I know I could just send a private message as myself, but I'm too much of a coward to even do that.

I'm the one who wrote the FS.

And I am very, very sorry.

Basically, I'm a lurker-type. I don't write fic, but I wish I could. I've tried a few times, but the honest truth is that I just don't have the gift that you and a number of other fn_ff writers have.

Unfortunately, I saw your post about the new writers failing Keith late at night, the same evening of a messy breakup, and I was feeling like a complete and total asshole. I made and submitted the secret without even thinking.

Trust me, when I remembered it a few days later, I felt awful. I had hoped that you wouldn't see it and that it wouldn't be a big deal, but I guess I was wrong.

=/

Anyway, I'm so sorry. I've been stung by idiots on the internet in the past, and I feel horrid knowing that I sank low enough to become one of those idiots.

And I really am a big fan of yours---I have a great deal of respect for your writing, and from what I've gathered of you as a person.

Your entry about Keith was not offensive, and I had no way to react the way I did, much less in such a sleazy forum as fandom secrets.

I hope you'll forgive me.

Also, again, I really don't want to start more wank than I already have, so if you'd care to screen this comment, it would be appreciated... if not, however, I understand.

Friending...

Hello,

I'm not sure how to phrase this (very new to LJ), but I'd like to be friended for the fic.

Thanks,

notchka

*waves*

I've just recently found my way to pundit love and am desperately reading up on every bit of fic I can get my grubby little hands on so, ummmm, friend possibility??

[identity profile] crimsonxflowers.livejournal.com 2008-04-20 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, hi. I'm pretty sure I've read one or two of your fics in a community, and I was wondering if you'd friend me? Here for the fic, obviously.

[identity profile] eyeofthestate.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi. Would you please friend me? I'm here for the fic.

*sucks at talking to people*

[identity profile] lizzy-someone.livejournal.com 2008-05-25 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd like to be friended for fic, plzkthnx.

Me too, me too!

[identity profile] darkhawkhealer.livejournal.com 2008-05-28 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
*heh* I'm actually not completely here for the fic!

I found you through the Psych slash fandom (ooh, shiny, pretty!, by the way) and love your fic (obviously) but I came over to your journal to see if there'd been any more Psych stuff I may have missed, and then I started reading your entries...and I kind of got hooked. *guilty grin*

You're funny and you're flaily and obsessive and passionate and its neat to see someone as interested in politics as you are, because it's not something I run into alot. I don't tend to write on my own journal alot -- I keep forgetting to do that most days -- but I'm a comment h0r and I'll jump in occasionally just to say 'allo!' but that's about it.

So just as a heads up; I realize random people friending you can be odd (eljay is my entertainment value), but here I am? *beams* I'm totally harmless, I swear, I just need new friends, so I'm starting here!

Hi!

Hello! We've crossed paths a few times, and I was wondering if you'd mind if we friended each other?

I suppose I'm not specifically hunting for fic, though anything you've written is certainly a happy perk. C:

[identity profile] onlinemoleskine.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, any chance I can get friended?
I'm here mostly for the fic but I do read the other entries.

[identity profile] fearless-jones.livejournal.com 2008-08-10 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Hello, I'm replying to the psych_slash question here, since I can't reply back through the private message system here at LJ. Sorry about that!

Anyway:
As long as all the replies are contained within one post (easier to find all the fics if they're in one place) OR all the fanfics are clearly labeled as being a part of the tree (easier for me to archive), then it's fine! :D

Hey Lucia. I'd really like to read your fic. :)

Hi

[identity profile] stumpyfantastic.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I was wondering if I could be friended so I could read your rps fic

[identity profile] vigee-le-brun.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Umm, hi there! I've just recently gotten into pundit fic (mostly through fake_news fanfic) and now I'm just trying to read everything I can get my hands on. I read a bunch of your fic and loved it (and have also recently fallen head over heals for Rachel Maddow - so your icon drew my attention!) I'd love to be added friended for the fic, if you'll have me.

In case you decide to check out my journal, you should know it hasn't been updated in a really long time. I was posting relatively consistently for a while, but then life got in the way and now I'm much more of a lurker, (very) occasional commenter - I don't do a lot of producing of my own.

Anyway, I'd love to me added if possible. Thanks!

Hey bb! From ONTD_political, and totally in for the Rachel/Keith ficcy-ness. ;)

I've friended you because I love and fangirl Keith and Rachel, and I keep seeing you and your awesome Rachel icon around LJ.

RPS isn't really my thing, so no pressure to friend me back, but of course you can if you want!

[identity profile] stylistixs.livejournal.com 2008-09-13 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
i came through this while searching for psych icons. and then i noticed a love for rvb. add?

Saw you in a comment on ONTD_P

And I'm trying to wrap my tired brain around why I'm sure I know who you are.

Please tell me this is one of my old browncoat friends from back in high school or I'm going to feel like a total idiot.

This is what happens when I move and loose track of Megan, Hoshi, and co. Srs fail.

I need to go back to sleep now, but you WERE my cap'n weren't you? :ninja:

Srsly, sleep now.

I've been seeing you around in the Sinfest feed as of late, and upon looking at your userpics (not to mention the comments), it's obvious that you have a lot—no seriously, a lot of similar interests. Namely Maddow, Colbert, Olbermann, Zero Punctuation, Firefly, Dr. Horrible, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, etc.

You will notice though that I don't post an awful lot; I tend to be a serial commenter instead. It's as if I were made to be a commentator rather than someone who creates original works ex nihilo.

If you do a bit of digging, you'll eventually see that I'm not that big a fan of fanfic so I'll throw that out and explain it in more detail so as to not offend.

Unfortunately, my taste for fanfic has been soured from the beginning because every frakking time I've tried to read something my friends would push on me as OMG SPIFFY McAWESOMESAUCE, I've found it to be either hackneyed and predictable, plagued with inserting characters from other series into another universe for no goddamn reason other than a random sex scene or other wankery (I swear, they're trying to breed characters like chocobos or something), a Mary Sue, or so riddled with spelling and grammar errors that they made me want to beat myself to death with my own skull.

That said, I'm not averse to fanfic in theory; apparently I just have ridiculously high standards for it. That is, if you consider proper spelling and grammar and a plot that fits in thematically with the original universe from which it's based to be high standards (e.g. if a Firefly fic had characters peppering their sentences with Japanese instead of Mandarin).

Personally, I think everyone else's standards are too low, but from your comments, it's evident that you can actually write, so I doubt you have the same problems as the fic writers whose fics I actually did read.

So, there you go. Sorry for the meandering tangent on fanfic I took.

Hello, there. I hope you don't mind, but I would like to be friended. It might be slightly predictable, but I'm here for fic. I found you hanging out in fn_ff, and am interested in checking out your pundit fic.

This sounds ridiculously formal, I'm sorry. I like your taste in music, I agree with your view in politics and don't mind the outspoken-ness, I'd like to check out your writing, and I thought it was hysterical when Tweety was rickrolled. In short, you sound pretty awesome in general. Am I doing better at this "FRIEND ME FRIEND ME FRIEND ME!" game yet?

[identity profile] cherusha.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Joining the throng of fans who found you through your fn_ff postings. Combining Good Omens with punditslash is quite possibly the greatest thing ever. I'd love to be able to read more of your stuff, if that's possible.

[identity profile] pinglederry.livejournal.com 2008-10-22 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
I'm definitely curious about what fic you may have under lock and key (is there any TDS/TCR? *hopeful eyes*), but I'm also rather interested in you as a person. You seem very politically aware, something I've more or less given up on being, and you were the one who drew my attention to Rachel Maddow (and possibly Keith Olbermann, if I ever manage to catch his show).

I actually finally saw Rachel about a week ago or so ago (maybe, I'm not sure); the one where she did a video conference with a conservative political figure and he basically tried to chew her out for being biased, and she totally owned him. :) I must admit her bias did bother me; I kept going "Well yeah, but what about when Obama/other Democrat did [X]?", and I thought the guy might have had a valid point or two at the beginning, but as soon as she started talking with him he completely fell apart and she owned. Taking somebody off their high horse, for once. I guess I'm just spoiled by TDS' slightly less obvious bias (they have no trouble pointing out when the Democrats do something stupid), or maybe I just saw a particular night where the Democrats didn't do much to ignite Rachel's ire. Either way, is there a way I can catch her show (and possibly Keith's) online?

Also, did you see the interview with her in the New York Times? I WANT HER HOUSE. WANT WANT WANT.

In conclusion... be my friend? *puppy eyes*

friending b/c I need someone else to ramble about various left wing talking points.

RPS as well? Never read it/wrote it before, but now we've got such a sexy ass administration...

plus, you recognize the awesome that is Keith O and Rachel Maddow.

I'd love to be able to see your fic ... if you're ok with that, please friend back.
