and now... THIS IS HOW I AM REPAID?!
I had to drive into the City today to pick up a book for Mum. So I put on Hazards of Love before going, first time I had the chance to hear it.
... Um. "The Wanting Comes in Waves/Repaid" may be the Decemberists Crowning Music of Awesome. The entire album was amazing. Just... wow. I loved them before, but this was their magnum opus. Bravo.
Also, looking at people's lyrical interpretation, I am quite saddened. I thought the guy in "Wanting" took the deal with his mother and never returned to his mother, so he grew up to be the Rake, and-- yeah, no. Fuck, I like my version better. I AM STICKING TO IT, MELOY. MY VERSION OF THE STORY'S BETTER.
