My muse is fighting me tooth and claw over this fic I'm supposed to work on for Kink Bingo, so I'm hoping to jumpstart my writing with this.

Ask me anything about my writing or fannishness. Ask me about what happens in a month's time after X fic, or what my strongest headcanon is for Y fandom. Give me a title of something I've never written and I'll tell you the story behind it. Ask me for a Top Five list or an impromptu fanmix or what tea I associate Z with.

Semi-relatedly, I may share the MoC plot outline soon, it's an idea I am toying with to definitively kill that story and move on from it.

#occultchicago: What are some injokes that have evolved among the users? What secrets do they know about each other that they don't talk about IRL (because these things happen when you do any kind of non-face-to-face talking a lot to people you somewhat trust long into the night)?

your original fiction thing with the Scholar and Tracy and the medium and her ghost and Donovan-if-that's-still-his-name: What sort of food does each of them like best, and how do they eat it?

#occultchicago: I forgot I wrote this... The only thing that coms to mind is that, maaaan, when Ghost Story happens, that chat must be extra loaded. I imagine that's around the time everyone figured out that the bot is Marcone, and he's running the resistance, so the IRC chat is probably great for fast info relaying and comparing notes. So just through the virtue of them having talked together for years beforehand and now are working together... it'd be fun to see Murphy talking vaguely about ghost Harry while John can only read the logs because he's in fucking Rome (IIRC) when everyone's on the chat.

ctmwr: YOU READ THAT? jfc, I have a 90% completed wedding fic sequel to that story. it's probably terrible, but I wrote so much more in that universe ugh ugh. YOU WANT?

Because they never go to Paris. The Doctor's dreams shift a little after marriage. An old friend reminds him of how much he loved university, and Fitz's influence helps him stay grounded in reality, so eventually the Doctor goes and becomes a professor of literature at a local mid-sized college. And all the student have a crush on the professors musical punkish husband.

MoC: FRANKLINNNNN. oh franklin. Franklin was his high school's quarterback and was a good ol' boy who went to college on a sports scholarship. He had a run in with the law that landed him in prison, but he got out early on good behavior. By then, his mother was coming down with dementia and he needed stable work to keep her comfortable. Ex-cons have issues with employment, but not in the Outfit. He's a low-level errand boy mostly, because he's friendly and non-threatening in a way that's an asset, but also strong enough to pound someone into the ground. He spends a lot of time at home with his mom, watching bad prime time television and generally being clueless about the supernatural side of the Outfit's work force.

Alistair likes his tea. (Because the number one recurring thing in my work: TEA.) He's technically not supposed to use any magic in his day to day, but the only exception is a spell he uses to speed-heat his teapot. He's a dude capable of wiping you from existence, you're not gonna tell him how to do his goddamn tea okay?

Tracy! Traaaacy, she loves mixed cuisines. Her family is of a blended cultural background, so she will eat anything from tofurky burgers to curried dishes. She doesn't particularly love one food, but she will eat everything.

Donovan would say that his favorite is the blood of his enemies but he's just joking. Probably. (no really, he likes soft serve fro-yo, it's the best)

Jonquil swings hard between dieting so she can keep fitting into her impression wardrobe of vaguely weaponized clothing and eating candy out of vending machines. She likes to keep her sunglasses on in public and throw Rolos into the air to catch with her mouth.

Liv doesn't eat anything because he is dead.

#occultchicago: Weirdly, this is like one of my favorite fills--I love intercharacter chitchat, all casual-like, and groups of characters that don't usually talk working together.

That makes a ridiculous amount of sense & I love it. For Marcone, I think getting the edges of vague rumors of some ambiguous *thing* freaking out *his people* while he CAN'T INTERVENE is like finely-crafted torture for him.

ctmwr: Um YES, you kept extolling Fitz and I wanted to get a sense of Fitz so I read that before I (re)discovered my stash of BBC novels and boy howdy, I was *confused* but intrigued. DO WANT, that sounds marvelous, fascinating and lovely and oh gosh students swooning over the weird-yet-charming university professor's 'kept man'.

MoC: OMG YOU. It's official; Franklin is the most adorable dude in the Outfit.

origific: Alistair is a man of few needs, but nothing gets in the fucking way of those needs ever. Even entropy, in the case of his tea. Tracy is delightful. Even and open and grounded in all things, even in what she likes. Love her. Totally, totally called it on Donovan! I had a an internal bet going that he loves some form of ice cream a lot. Donovan is just a sweet creamy confectionary kinda person. Jonquil is endlessly amusing, I <3 her so. And Liv, who made me laugh. BECAUSE HE'S DEAD.
