My home is flooding from the inside out.

And Lemony Snicket can blow me. I'll show him a series of unfortunate fucking events. Have your house falling apart under your feet.

...

I have nothing. I have nothing left right now. I don't know what to do, I don't know anything, and I feel like screaming. I just want some- anything- good to happen. Just give me something here, 'cause I have nothing.

God, alleged Creator of the Universe, whatever I have done to piss you off, I'm sorry, alright? Just stop. All I wanted this summer was to see Christina and to maybe write some fic. That's it. That was my entire plan. Now this, this catastrofuck that we can't fix and my chances of getting the hell out of Missouri are slim to none right now.

I hate people who whine about how much their life sucks but now I can't help but say that I've lost all my reserves and I'm done. There's a half inch of standing water in the master bathroom and the hallway and I'm done.

*Seconded*

Look at it this way, having this sort of a disaster happen early on in your life means you'll be better prepaired to handle such a problem should it arise again.

A thief breaks into an old mans house while the old man is at a movie and as he begins looting he hears a voice,

"Jesus is watching."

The man looks around but can't see anyone so he returns to work only to hear it once more "Jesus is watching."

Drawing his knife the man turns on the light and looks around the room only to find a parrot who promptly responds "Jesus is watching."

So the thief laughed and said "What's yer name bird?"

"Noah."

"What kind of a moron names a bird Noah?"

"The same kind of moron who named his pitbull Jesus."

We're gonna talk on the phone today.

Just know this, I've been there (earlier this year even). It does get better. It may not seem like it now, but it does. You just have to work through it.

We'll talk about some of the other stuff.

*backpat since I know you don't generally want hugs*

I'm sorry this happened to you, Luce. If you need to get out of town while remodeling happens or something, you're more than welcome to come join me in Tampa. We'd be happy to let you stay with us.

I know this may not be of any help right now but my husband does work in home repair. Once you get the water turned off, get a wet/dry vac (you may have to rent one) to suck up all that water. It will be much quicker than any other option.

I have friends in Columbia, MO so I know how much of a problem flooding can be.
