Researching Florida colleges. So far, apparently every single one of them is complete crap. Greeeeat. God, I hate Florida.
Doesn't help that I'm still very unsure of what I want to do in life. My only idea is kinda stupid, probably. I'm really thinking about being a video game localizer. You know, the people who translate the game and adapt the text for a regional audience? I... I don't know. I mean, I like languages, would love to be bilingual, I think I'm a decent writer, and I've always had colossal respect for localizations that really make the game enjoyable for the target audience (anyone else remember the way Working Designs translated the Lunar series, with all that genuinely funny humor?).
I have no idea. Maybe it's a stupid thing, but... gah. I love the gaming industry. I always come back to it after forays and affairs with other hobbies. I love it for more than just playing, but for the process. Gaming has been monumentally important to my life and... The only thing is, I have no idea where to start with such a field.
Oh, and Mum and I are going to have a massive row when she gets home from work. I can tell. All around, a good day, eh?

This is true.
I'm hoping to have found an exception in the one I'm applying to, however. Eckerd College.
Give it a look through, eh? It's really not that bad- I went on an impromptu tour last week, and it's rather lovely- and the academics are also pretty interesting.

Always. I still have my Lunar:SSSC discs, and I love how they localized the dialogue. If I were to ever have a hand in a game's storyline/writing, they would be my idols.
(They have had a great sense of humor in their manuals and strategy guides, too! It spilled over everywhere.)

Although the thing is, you'd totally need to live in the area, because Orlando-Miami is a four-hour toll road ride.
Uh, yeah, this state fucking sucks. I've been here almost two years now and I'm finally figuring that out. Oddly enough, despite knowing it sucks, I've kind of come to love it. Or at least I love living in Orlando.
