... Mostly. About a third of the entries are FLocked and all the RPS fic is under lock. If you'd like to be friended, comment here and specify whether you're here for fic or not, just so I know.
ETA (December 30, 2008): I no longer write RPS. I'm deeply into the video gaming fandom now. You can find my past RPS work at
fakenews_fanfic. Only RL stuff is locked now, really.

Requisite friend begging
You will notice though that I don't post an awful lot; I tend to be a serial commenter instead. It's as if I were made to be a commentator rather than someone who creates original works ex nihilo.
If you do a bit of digging, you'll eventually see that I'm not that big a fan of fanfic so I'll throw that out and explain it in more detail so as to not offend.
Unfortunately, my taste for fanfic has been soured from the beginning because every frakking time I've tried to read something my friends would push on me as OMG SPIFFY McAWESOMESAUCE, I've found it to be either hackneyed and predictable, plagued with inserting characters from other series into another universe for no goddamn reason other than a random sex scene or other wankery (I swear, they're trying to breed characters like chocobos or something), a Mary Sue, or so riddled with spelling and grammar errors that they made me want to beat myself to death with my own skull.
That said, I'm not averse to fanfic in theory; apparently I just have ridiculously high standards for it. That is, if you consider proper spelling and grammar and a plot that fits in thematically with the original universe from which it's based to be high standards (e.g. if a Firefly fic had characters peppering their sentences with Japanese instead of Mandarin).
Personally, I think everyone else's standards are too low, but from your comments, it's evident that you can actually write, so I doubt you have the same problems as the fic writers whose fics I actually did read.
So, there you go. Sorry for the meandering tangent on fanfic I took.

Re: Requisite friend begging
I shall friend you. You seem pretty groovy. Welcome to the party! Oh god, now I have to worry about a Y chromosome hanging out on my FList! :terror!:
Who the hell puts Japanese in Firefly-verse?! I feel offended on behalf of Joss Whedon. D:
Re: Requisite friend begging
Eh, don't worry; everyone thinks I'm gay anyway, so that's only like half a Y chromosome or something :D (FWIW, I'm merely an ally that just happens to look like a Bear). Maybe it's due to my being unafraid to use the word fabulous when it's appropriate and occasionally using icons like the one above. So long as we don't get in an argument on second wave, Dworkin-ite feminism, I think we'll be cool.

No one that I know of, it's simply an example of the kind of lack of attention to detail that would push me over the deep end.
