luciazephyr: Fitz Kreiner, a man called Fortune ([DW] a man called Fortune)

oh my fucking god, really?

OKAY TWO THINGS!

1. The Bakery AU is going to be two more chapters. Shut up, look, the chapter is pushing 12,500 and they're only just now making out. For length reasons alone, I'm gonna chop it in two and make the story six chapters long.

2. Guys. Guys. You need to share in this weirdness with me: my mother wants me to write e-book erotica. Like, she's a huge fan of this site called Elora's Cave and she keep nudging me to submit something for it, seeing how I can write a crazy amount in a short time.

And. Okay, the money would be nice, yes. But this is the LGBT section and the combination of titles and terrible covers is scaring me. WHY DON'T ANY OF YOU WEAR CLOTHES? CLOTHING CAN BE SEXY.

She thinks I should turn the Bakery AU into an original story. But, it'd need 99% more sex. To which I'm like, "uh, no? this is a fic about trust and trauma" and she's like, "make it into something about thrust and drama".

It's a weird day.

1. Makes sense.

2. I love your mom, and agree that your writing could vastly improve the quality on EC - you should do it! (But not Bakery. The serial numbers are kinda carved too deep to file off.)

Oh. My. God.

I may have to make my own comments.

I love that thing where if you're writing then your absolute primary goal must be making money off it.

Even if an AU was an original story it wouldn't necessarily be sellable. I really don't get this fantasy. Almost all writers earn very little from their work, and most of the exceptions do not write prose fiction - they write ad copy, nonfiction, screenplays etc. So why writers of fiction get assailed with OH GOD YOU SHOULD BE MAKING MONEY RIGHT NOW comments, idk. If money's what someone wants they'd do much better to quit writing and invest their writing time in a second job.

*nodnod* Yeah, absolutely, if you're going to be doing writing as a hobby anyway there's no harm in angling to get a little back for it, but if you look at it in terms of making an hourly wage...wow, does it not add up to much.

Well, if you ever write any gen... XD I share your difficulty there - my OF is pretty much all either gen or femslash, and I just don't go for het pairings much.

1. YAY!

2. Because this is not weirdness with my mother (which would be SO WEIRD and AWKWARD), I find your mother hilarious! Just imagining a mother saying "thrust and drama" makes me giggle. But yes, I can see the WEIRD for you. But I think you would write great erotica if you wanted:)

At least they aren't all awful CGI covers like these. These make my eyes hurt. I've a friend who had a series of erotic stories with them that went out and bought her own cover images and did the design. They were the only good looking books on the site.

Also, loling at "thrust and drama".

Wait, I'm not the only one that finds people more attractive in (cool/sexy) clothing than out of clothing?

Nope. Half the attraction is making you wonder and work for it.

I sporfled at the "thrust and drama" comment, I will admit.

Wandering back into your world after a lengthy bit of an absence. Just re-read Book 1 (actually have re-read it several times, thank you Kindle portability) & now Marcone's interlude. Fantastic stories, both! Looking forward to catching up.

Still know nothing much more about canon (I get anxious about reading Butcher because I'm pretty attached to [your] fanon... & because I haven't had the opportunity =)

All that said; when I read something as brilliant as your stories I really do agree with the idea that you should be compensated with more than just feedback, i.e. coin of the realm. I've PAID for stuff that deserved nothing better than to be thrown across the room & then kicked into "give away free" box!! =O

So, yeah, I totally get where your Mom is coming from... but "Thrust & Drama"? that's fantastic. Your Mom must be a hoot! (my Mom was more like your Gramma)

Regarding all the sexin', especially Het which never rang my bell... I've moved past hormone hell, praise jeebus! and just recently learned that I now have "menopause mouth" which is evidently what a lotta old women get where they no longer curb their tongues. It's already been getting me into lots of trouble =/

Saying what you think (based on many years of experience & bullshit) is not necessarily the most diplomatic... I would have (and did) appreciated some of my "pie in the sky" beliefs filled with a little more reality. but I keep forgetting that YMMV thingie. erk. =(

Which was the longwinded way of telling you how much I appreciate your writing of Marcone. He knows he's a monster but he's a monster worthy of respect. (old lady experiences with monsters)

Erk. sorry. I obviously shouldn't be allowed on the interwebs when I've not had my morning coffee.

I understand being paid for fanfic is an issue but there are plenty of paypal donation buttons on assorted friends websites (upkeep costs & remuneration of sorts). I'm not sure that you can do that on LJ tho. =/

Looking forward to your original stories!

I have read Cross; it was most excellent. I think we (I) may have gotten off on the wrong foot in a comment/extrapolation I made. =(

Sorry, I'm very good at the confuseration. =P

With LGI. Not you.

You seem to have a higher tolerance for my more off the wall comments. (and I appreciate and thank you for that)
