Stargate Friday, not cheerful thoughts.

Okay, one snippy note about SG-1 from me. And... um... hate to rain on the "LULZ, THAT WAS FUNNY" parade for SGA, but... I noticed something rather creepy.

SG-1 complaint: Okay, Mitchell, stop being such a bitch. Rodney was on his best behavior on the Odysessy and Mitchell was just so rude. WTF was with that? Was he jealous because Sam totally wanted to sex Rodney. Come on, it was OBVIOUS.? It was really annoying me and this was, for all intents and purposed, a good episode.

SGA dark thought: Okay. So. As I understand it, Rodney was forced under Luscy's spell by Ronon who was being controlled by Luscy himself. Does that seem a bit... um... I don't even know what I'm trying to say, but my mind keeps jumping to Koyla's torturing Rodney for info back in S1. It's really bugging me. I loved the episode, it was brill, but... that's just eating at me for how wrong it is. Not that everything Luscy did wasn't wrong, but this was especially bad for me.

Also.... did Lizzie shag Luscy? o.o

Gah, that's just creeping me out. Good eps, but... *shrugs*

Yeah, actually that's what I liked. That is was funny and awesome but there was this weird sort of bad that made it awesome on a totally different level. I actually give them credit for giving it that other level, even if it wasn't necessarily meant to be there.

It was funny but creepy

The Atlantis ep freaked me out on so many levels.

I thought the SG episode was amazing. I always think Rodney is a completely different character on that show, but I also think you're meant to respond to him as a Stargate, not an Atlantis viewer, which is f-up writing. That said: muchos kudos for that ep.

I actually wondered whether Mitchell was jealous too! He was acting so "alpha-male" and it did seem as though he was trying to keep Rodney away from Sam on a few occasions. But yes, aside from Mitchell being a bitch, it was a good episode.

As for your SGA thoughts, yep, that's definitely wrong. Poor Rodney. I think he'll be developing some serious issues. *hugs my Rodney* We can't blame Ronon though, because he was under the spell too, but it does put a serious perspective on an otherwise fun episode...

How does that tie into the implication that Rodney drugged Sheppard at the end?

Personally, I think TPTB really, really don't "get" consent.

I hope you don't mind me nosing my way in here. I was viewing [livejournal.com profile] _wwsd_'s picspam and saw you link this post. Just had to say that I agree with everything you said. Especially what you said in reply up above...

I thought it was insulting to Rodney's character who has been, ya know, built up for two seasons.
Very true. I'm just chalking it up to the writers trying too hard to get a laugh, unfortunately at Rodney's expense. Martin Gero, where art thou? Oh right, over on Atlantis...

And SGA dark thought? Very insightful. It did feel a little weird, and I wouldn't be surprised if Rodney were a little edgy around Ronon now. Although Ronon tends to point a gun at anything that he doesn't agree with, but still. No excuse!
