McCain: 1, Barack: 0.

Barack Obama, you fucking idiot.

When McCain lies about what your plan is, you don't laugh and say softly "That's not true" and let him keep going.

You fucking call him out. You say the words, "John McCain, you are a liar."

You lost this debate. You lost it because you let him yell over you and you wouldn't talk over him. This was not a time to be polite, you idiot.

And as for myself? I am so angry at John McCain, I am shaking. John McCain doesn't give a flying fuck about the veterans. The fact that he brought them up like that at the end- I cannot handle how angry that made me.

Dude, you are so welcome here. I was tempted to friend you after peeking at your pretty icons.

The one good thing I can say that came out of this debate... tomorrow, we're going to be talking about the economy again. And now Obama knows what he has to do in the next debate.

I wouldn't mind at all; I need more people for political/fake news squee, as I am sadly lacking.

Indeed! Though I thought I heard in one of the post-debate analysis (what's the plural of analysis? Analyse?) is that the economy would be the last debate?

I'm an RPF writer. Is that a problem?

Indeed! \o/ And the post-debate coverage is lessening my pessimism about the debate. I still think Obama should have called McCain out, but that is partly because McCain DOESN'T CARE ABOUT VETS. And I am a member of the IAVA. Feel my wrath.

Psh, I'm a fic writer and I got my start in fake news fic ;-) (I was actually very recently compelled to re-enter the fandom since I've been away for a long, long time. I blame the conventions and the Emmys.) RPF is so not a prob.

Yep! Keith and Anderson's little panel did some fab work (when some of the panelists weren't being sort of douchey) and Rachel was made of win, as per usual, and I'm just relieved that the media isn't overlooking a ton of points like they usually do. In particular, Keith noticing that McCain basically admitted that the US uses torture.

Re: McCain "cares" about vets, ugh, that made me sick to my stomach. I hate that he thinks he can get away with using his military record to say he cares about veterans, but what I hate even more is that I doubt anyone's going to call him on his shit :/

I just friended you and put you on my RPF filter. Just in case you were interested. :D

Keith bringing up the torture thing... I was so proud of him. I was so glad I wasn't the only one going "did.... did he just admit to it?" And Rachel pointing out that debates are decided on the soundbites helped me calm down. McCain may have talked over Obama a lot and cut him off, but the soundbites are gonna be "Obama doesn't understand" and Obama listing off all the things McCain was wrong about. That is good for us.

Srsly. I want Jim Webb to walk on stage and kick McCain in the nuts.

Whee, of course I am ^__^ Added you!

Word. And I think if anyone actually makes a montage of all the times McCain cut him off and was generally an unprofessional little git and actually shows it on new networks, people's opinions might sway even more in Obama's favor.
