Stargate Friday, not cheerful thoughts.
Okay, one snippy note about SG-1 from me. And... um... hate to rain on the "LULZ, THAT WAS FUNNY" parade for SGA, but... I noticed something rather creepy.
SG-1 complaint: Okay, Mitchell, stop being such a bitch. Rodney was on his best behavior on the Odysessy and Mitchell was just so rude. WTF was with that? Was he jealousbecause Sam totally wanted to sex Rodney. Come on, it was OBVIOUS.? It was really annoying me and this was, for all intents and purposed, a good episode.
SGA dark thought: Okay. So. As I understand it, Rodney was forced under Luscy's spell by Ronon who was being controlled by Luscy himself. Does that seem a bit... um... I don't even know what I'm trying to say, but my mind keeps jumping to Koyla's torturing Rodney for info back in S1. It's really bugging me. I loved the episode, it was brill, but... that's just eating at me for how wrong it is. Not that everything Luscy did wasn't wrong, but this was especially bad for me.
Also.... did Lizzie shag Luscy? o.o
Gah, that's just creeping me out. Good eps, but... *shrugs*

I thought the SG episode was amazing. I always think Rodney is a completely different character on that show, but I also think you're meant to respond to him as a Stargate, not an Atlantis viewer, which is f-up writing. That said: muchos kudos for that ep.

You are in Rodney's goddamn galaxy. You can be the top dogs in your own, but when you come to Pegasus? The people who've been living in Pegasus for two years now should have the control and power and knowledge.
*still a bit ticked about that* It is possible that I'm still bitter that the original McKay character (in his SG-1 stint) was pretty much created just to show off how beautiful and perfect and FTW Sam was.
And I have Sam hate, but she's not bugging me too much this season. o.o Weird.

But see...that's the thing. Rodney's character when transposed for a Stargate audience has a completely different function. It's not his place to be useful or respected, it's his thing to be ridiculed. That said, I do agree with people's confusion (well, okay, for most McKay fans it's more like outrage) over Mitchell because it's not like he knows Rodney, like, at all.
Whatever. I was too busy watching Elizabeth go crazy-happy over the Ancients and having a geekgasm at the etymology stuff. Also: I still think that the episode was really good. I like the way the plots came together. Stargate is much better when it's fighting on five sides.

Let's agree to disagree, yeah?

But yes. In the parts where we disagree, agree :)
