I have a gay 19-year-old adopted LJ son in the Philippines going thru some of the same garbage, but his parents are both religious AND insane.

I'm out to my parents (and they were good about not saying this sort of thing even before), but I get this everytime we have a gathering with the extended family. At length. And then I smile politely and hope no one notices how pissed off I actually am.

:sighs: In a couple of years, I'll tell her. Right now I'll get the "but you've never even tried dating guys" speech, just like I got the "but you haven't tried going to church" speech when I told her I was an atheist.

But no win situations, they suck (but on a random note - there was an article about Keith Olbermann and Bill O'Reilly in the newspaper I read. He was surrounded by baseball cards and all).
