Fanficton
Do you read or write fanfiction?Yes and, since recently, yes.
When did you first start reading/writing fanfiction?Been in fandom for five or six years now.
What was your first fandom?Anime.
First ship?1x2x1
What website do you use most?LJ
What do you think of Fanfiction.net?Pit `o Voles. Any good authors I find there, I reccomend to them that they work in a better locale.
What fandoms have you written in?Gundam WIng, Harry Potter, and Stargate Atlantis. Soon to been Firefly and Numb3rs as well.
Pairings? That I write? McBeck for SGA and L/C for Numb3rs.
Any fandoms you would like to write in?Anything Jossverse.
Do reviews affect how you write in any way?Yes. Constructive reviews are the second biggest influence on writing.
Do you use a beta? The would be the first biggest influence. If you don't have a beta, you're just Anne Rice without a publishing company. And we all know what a elitist bitch she is.
What ratings do you read/write?Read everything, preferring PG and above. I can write up to R.
What warnings have you used on your fiction/read?*ticks off on fingers* Slash, crackfic, smut, first time, crossover, post-ep, AU, fluff.
Do you have any squicks?Mary-Sues, any OC not created by Mice, incest, badly resolved rape!fics, OOC-ness, SI-canon character romance.
Do you Role-play online? If so, what? Not for a long time. I wisened up.
Have you ever stolen something from another person's work?If I ever did, I'd ask the owner first, so no.
Favorite fandom to write/read?Stargate and Numb3rs.
Favorite pairing?McShep and L/C, respectively. (Look, scribas fen, don't kill me. You have to admit there are more accomplished authors for McShep than McBeck.)
Favorite writer/writers?Mice, Shalott, Miriam Heddy, Danvers, Koschka, Pepetural Motion, Cesprenza, Julad, Merryish, and a bunch I'm forgetting.
How long should a chapter be?It should always be more than 500 words, but you cannot limit it more than that. The author maybe be trying something artistic that requires shorter chapters.
Do you write/read drabbles?Very occassionally. They're good for fluff and cool thoughtful insights into the characters.
Any fandoms you avoid?LotR and HP, the leaders in Mary-Sues.
Pairings you avoid?Actually, most het pairings. I have nothing against them, but slash always strikes me as more complicated and more interesting. I know very few good het writers. Oh, and also "canon character/OC" I avoid.
Warnings you avoid?Songfic. *screams*
Do the number of reviews tell how good a story is?Depending on the fandom. Small fandoms, no. Bigger ones, yes. I read rec lists a lot, actually.
What do you think of Mary Sues?A stain upon fanfiction. We should mock each one personally and destroy the authors who write them.
Have you ever flamed someone?Yes.
Have you ever been flamed? Not that I remember.
That's it, aren't you glad?Honey, on fanfic, I can rant all damn day.
