luciazephyr: Book of the Still, the time traveler's lifeline (Default)
Anyone got blasphemous music? Like, mocks God or takes religion and twists it? If you have anything of that sort, I'm very keen on it.

Examples:
Franz Ferdinand's "The Fallen" (lyrics) - Pretty much my favorite song right now. Centers around the idea that Jesus returns, but isn't exactly what the evangelicals expected. Fantastic and dark and makes me think vid-y thoughts though I doubt any fandom could fit this song. And the second full verse, the one that starts So, we stole and drank champagne makes me shiver. I find it astonishingly beautiful for some reason. Note, that if I ever go into television, this'll be the theme song to my big magnum opus.

Perfect Circle's "Judith (Renholder Mix)" (lyrics) - Extremely dark. Doubt and betrayal and is basically just the singer just trying to destroy someone else's faith. I don't actually like this song, it's too angry for me to relate to usually...

So, gimme those songs that you would never listen to in church or within earshot of a priest.
