According to fan_this, Madeline L'Engle's died.

God, I adored her stories about the Murray family... Especially A Wind in the Door. I loved Proginoskes so much. And Gaudior! And Calvin, who I thought was the most perfect character ever and I really wanted him as my friend.

I need to reread those books.
