(no subject)

Well, today is already made of fail and I've only been awake and hour and a half.

1. Mum is out of town for the week. The person who was supposed to pick me up for school didn't show up. I wouldn't have minded if she, ya know, called or something so I would have known to catch the bus, but c'est la vie.



2. :clutches bottle of migraine medicine like a lifeline: I think my headaches are getting worse since we had to get me some stronger stuff this time around. Did ya'll know the waiting list for a neurologist is three months? Fun, eh? And, oddly enough, today my migraine is on the right side of my face instead of the usual left. Weird...



3. There's a storm coming and not of the cute Tennant variety. A fuckin' ice storm is due to hit later today so I guess not going in to school is a good thing? But I have missed about ten days this quarter due to the "my brain is going to explode"-ness of the last few months. Again- migraines suck and so does my family genealogy for giving me them.



4. Ganked from notpoetry's journal, the WGA talks are breaking down and, if you read that, you'll see why. Here's the quick version for the folks who don't want to read: The AMPTP can fuck right off. I think that covers it, yeah?



5. You know what is really not groovy? Finishing a video game after working on it steadily for a week. I get very excited about finally finishing, then realize, five minutes later, that now I'm done, I have nothing to play. :looks sadly at Kingdom Hearts II, spends a moment mourning Axel, as he was awesome and got the most unfair ending of all time:



6. Tom McRae's "Mermaid Blues" is a heart-rendingly pretty song...

So, yeah.... :twiddles thumbs: I'm gonna curl up in the big living room chair now. I'll have the computer running and if anyone pings me on Google Talk, I should hear it. But I gotta shut my eyes for a bit.

ETA: OMG, RACHEL MIGHT GET A SHOW ON MSNBC. It's a definite rumor, but... omg, RACHEL! MSNBC! I LOVE RACHEL AND MSNBC. IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS. :D :D :D

I'm.... drawing. I have no idea why, but I'm drawing for the first time in years. I have no idea why. It's really weird.

Maybe I'll blame my Gaiman graphic novel. Hey, weird observation: if I was casting for a The Sandman film, I think Maddow would make a good Desire. There is something about her I always found androgynous and... yeah. Desire = Maddow, in my mind. Weird, huh?

Also, "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk" is like taking all the old mythological muses and concentrating them all down into a single song. Is all of Wainwright's stuff this dark and clever? ♥
