Okay, this FISA thing is ridiculous. It's going up for vote tomorrow. If you give a damn about the Fourth Amendment at all, something has to be done.
I have my senator's phone number. I know her office hours start at 8 AM Central and already told Mum to wake me up so I can call (she leaves for work at 7:45). I'm going to call my congresswoman and tell her that if she votes for that bill with the telecomm immunity, she not only won't get my vote, she won't get the vote of every Missourian I know. If the person I talk to bring up the "it's to protect Americans" thing, then I will bring up the "oh, what, the federal government can't get a damn warrant?" thing. It's Washington DC! The NSA can find a few judges to sign off.
That's my plan. I'm asking anyone who finds this as important as I do to call your senator- emailing won't work, the vote is tomorrow. If you want, leave me a comment here with your state and I'll find the number for you.
