Tonight's verdict: ahoy, racism.

Mum turned to me after the debate and said over the last three days, she's realized that John McCain is a racist.

Two major points tonight for her was referring to Obama as "that one" and being so condescending to the young black man in the audience.

Seriously, when McCain told that questioner he'd probably never heard of Frannie and Freddie before the economic crisis, the first thing Mum said was, "Why, because he's black?"

And I think it's a valid point. With the rampant racism going on at the McCain-Palin rallies, with the fact that McCain refused to look at Obama in the first debate, and with the events of this debate... you can make the argument that McCain feels a lot of disdain for Obama.

It's a sad state of affairs for our country.
