All gamer geeks have to hear this song: Something Awful's Blinn - "Archaeologist", a tribute to the greatest character class in Nethack. [Was done for Nethack god Sartak's Lets Play, which is archived over here.]
Before you say, "oh, I don't know Nethack, I'll skip this", it's basically a 20 year old ASCII game similar to D&D but with more pop culture refs. That's all you need to know.
It's fucking hilarious and is actually an extremely well-done song. Like, this is above JoCo-quality music, multiple instruments, excellent vocals. I was mad-on impressed.
And thus, I am convinced that once I figure out how to play this game, I'm playing as an archaeologist. :D And once SA is done being a bitch to people who don't have the $10 to get a user account, I'll find Blinn and see if I can thank him for such a catchy tune. Until then, I will continue to check SA hourly because I AM GOING THROUGH LP WITHDRAWAL, AAAAARGH. :twitches:
Seriously, the way normal people watch television, I watch LPs. I follow about five at a time and check in for updates daily.
