If you do: Alistair uses a wand. Jonquil uses brightly colored beads. Just throwing that out there. 8D
djfasjldkfnkjndf oh god, how are you meta'in about something that isn't even written yet?
I recall from back when House M.D. was good that one of the writers said that for the show to work, House as a character remains the same while the people around him change. So he is static while everyone reacts to him. Yet, he's still very interesting and pro-active in the narrative. That's essentially what I think Tracy will have going for her.
That's even obvious with Alistair and Tracy's relationship. Tracy doesn't change too much upon meeting him-- she gets more knowledge about the world, but her modus operandi stays about the same. Alistair, though, is forced to deal with an unknown factor he can't look up in a book and can't take apart to figure out how it works. He has to put up with Tracy's presence and habit for finding trouble if he wants to figure out how she even exists. And that's the impetus for all his development.
So, yeah. That solid character who doesn't go through drastic change but causes drastic change-- that's Tracy, I think.
