I say hazel, because of the golden touch to his eyes. People who can't see the difference between brown and hazel often like to be dull and simply say brown, so...

Ah, mirrors aren't as flattering as real life. You probably only get to see your eyes under unflattering bedroom and restroom and changing room lights. Everyone else gets to see them in all the varying sunlight and shadow of the outside world.
