I'm on the phone with Luce right now. And she wants me to post Anderson's playlists cause they are awesome. And I am a good wifey. And she says Hi!!

Luce: and his comments are so cute!

AC's iTunes Playlist

1. "Summer in Siam", Pogues. If you have ever been lucky enough to have spent some quiet time in Southeast Asia, then you'll really understand this song.

2. "Set the Ray to Jerry", Smashing Pumpkins. In classic Billy Corgan style, he writes a beautiful little love song, and gives it a Dada-esque title but that's part of the charm.

3. "New Year's Day", U2. You can't say anything bad about U2. Few, if any, bands can stay relevant for so long. I went to their last concert and it was the best live performance I've ever seen.

4. "Feeling Good", Nina Simone. No one's voice can move like Nina Simone. This song makes me smile.

5. "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?", REM. Might be tempting fate to pick a song inspired by the mugging of a news anchor.

6. "Move On Up (Extended Version)", Curtis Mayfield. Smooth soul classic. Nothing better to walk around New York City with.

7. "You've Just Got It All", +/- {PLUS/MINUS}. Still a relatively small New York City band. If you hear that they are playing some small venue go see them before they blow up.

8. "Pressure Drop", The Clash. Brilliant song, reminds me of my misspent youth.

9. "Tive Razao", Seu Jorge. Brazillian folk singer, known in the states for his Portuguese covers of David Bowie songs but I actually prefer his own stuff.

10. "Coffee & TV", Blur. If only I drank coffee it would be perfect... I don't really like hot beverages... weird, I know.

11. "You Can Have It All", Yo La Tengo. Second only to Sinatra, the best thing to come out of Hoboken. This is an infectiously catchy song.

12. "Summer Babe", Pavement. Some bands get a bit full of themselves, thinking they are poets rather than rock stars... Pavement were poets who were convinced they were rock stars.

13. "Speed Trials", Elliott Smith. Beautiful, sad, stripped-down bare bones song.

14. "Crystal", New Order. Still putting out brilliant music.

15. "Ko Ko", Charlie Parker. You just need to hear it.

((Typed verbatim. I find it insufferably cute that he can't seem to properly use a comma. *grammar nazi*))

From Details magazine:

01. The Clash - This is Radio Clash
02. Scissor Sisters - Comfortably Numb
03. Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues
04. RadioHead - Karma Police
05. Sugar - Needle hits E
06. Ike & Tina Turner - Proud Mary
07. Nouvelle Vague - Love will tear us apart
08. Interpol - Slow hands
09. Arcade Fire - Wake up
10. Artic Monkeys - I bet you look good on the dance floor
11. Mary J. Blige - No more Drama
12. Devo - Freedom of choice
13. Elvis Costello - Pump it up
14. The Hives - I hate to say I told you so
15. Abbey Lincoln - Nature Boy

If anyone has these songs, pls to be nice and upload. Also anyone who wants songs, check the comments to share the love.

Thankie!

Chi

Hah, I knew I could help with that. Unfortunately I can't help with the Clash stuff, I own only one of their cds, I should buy the rest, though...

Anderson. Really now, Anderson. You're cute. You listen to music I haven't listened to since 94 and you really surprise me. What would I do to find out why you chose the Scissor Sisters of all bands! the Artic Monkeys!
And you're a TV anchor who doesn't drink coffee???!! *raises brows* You're funny, Anderson.

Anyway, I got these for you, Luce:

Arcade Fire - Wake up (http://www.sendspace.com/file/27uif7) Oh my, Anderson listens to one of my favourite bands. Pity I don't have the version with David Bowie here right now.
Arctic Monkeys - I bet you look good on the dancefloor (http://www.sendspace.com/file/f8dinl)
Curtis Mayfield - Move on up(Long Version) (http://www.sendspace.com/file/srhs9l)

Dude, you read Andy's book, yes? You should know he loves The Clash to an unholy degree. What was the line... I put my faith in The Clash and made a few promises to God just in case. (I like to cover my bases.) or something similar.

Anderson's inability to use comma's correctly = doubly cute to me, though I wanna be his proofreader now...

And he's friends with the Scissor Sisters, I read somewhere. Mutual friends lead to him meeting the band and getting along or something.

But as for why he like the music? Um... Put on "Comfortably Numb" and really listen to the lyrics. It's like his life before Katrina in a nutshell- that time when he was even more emotionally screwed up than he is now.

I've uploaded the songs I have.

"Karma Police", RadioHead
"Comfortably Numb", Scissor Sisters
"This is Radio Clash", The Clash

And thanks for uploading stuff. Have snagged all three.

I remain doubtful however. This whole "Fucked up music for fucked up people" just doesn't agree with me.

Hey there. I have to say, Anderson does a pretty good playlist. Anyone who puts the Clash, Charlie Parker and Yo La Tengo in the same place gets my thumbs up.

This Yo La Tengo song was what got me into them in the first place:
