Tech help?

I'm looking for an external hard drive to hold all the footage and stuff I DL. See, I've had to delete a lot of footage (DW, SGA, etc) and Mum suggested we pool our cash to get more space for me.

So, help me? I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop and want to be able to access files directly and maybe use the footage saved on the hard drive to make vids in WMM (that 10th Kingdom "Return to Oz" vid, anyone?).

What should I get? How about this one?

PS: I LOVE THE BIG SHOW. Keith doing Carol Channing impressions and Dan sounding like he's crying with laughter. Guh. ILU, Stef. And I love Keith when he's not a pompous jerk. Though I love jerk!Keith too. I love Keith, let's just leave it at that.

Get whatever you can affoard, all these will let you access the drive via a USB port (just make sure you have USB2) and recognize it as simply a second drive. I have the book one, it's supposed to be pretty smart. *shrug*

All USB ports look the same. Back in the day it was USB 1.1, now if your computer is less 5 years old or younger you have USB 2.0 Which is much faster. It's about data transfer speeds.

Or maybe it's a Hive Mind thing and Keith thought he'd come up with it, but it was really Dan and Dan will be, "um, I dunno, who said it?" and Keith will be, "does it matter?" "If you're jacking my catchphrases again, YES."
