Whoa, wait. Keith and Joey are AWOL?

That kind of destroys the instafic I was writing... I thought Keith was out because he screwed up his foot more (since he's been out and about a lot, I hear) and I was doing a wee PRT bit with everyone giving Keith crap about it... *sadface*

Also, Joey's out all week?! Dan Abrams, you're a cutie, but... but... I love mah Joey. *grabby hands*

Oh, and this Monica chick that filled in for Keith? I hate her! She has no comedic timing and no snark which, I'm sorry folks, but if you're gonna fill in on Countdown you must have timing and snark on your side. Seriously, where the hell was Allison? We love Allison in my household. Allison is funny, snarky, sexy, and awesome. I miss her! She should be the official substitute for Keith.

-Luce

PS:
Mum: *shuts off Dan Abrams* I can't watch him! He's such a woman! Did you hear him giggle? He's annoying!
Luce: You can't watch Abrams, but you'll watch Andy?
Mum: No, see, David or Dan or whatever the fuck his name is- he's feminine. Anderson is more... asexual.
Luce: Anderson Hays Cooper is not asexual, Mum!
Mum: Well, he's not masculine, but he's not a girl...
Luce: That's not asexual, that's androgynous!
Mum: Eh, tomato, tomahto.
[...]
Luce: I love it. Keith gets filled in by a conservative-esque reporter and Joey gets a liberal Jew.
Mum: Whose almost flaming.

Next time remind me to read the comments first. Also? PRT needs to rag on Keith something *fierce*.

JON: You know, I'd take off work to go watch a baseball game but I have that thing...what's it called?
STEPHEN: An overly controlling nature?
JON: I was going for a work ethic, but thanks, Stephen.
STEPHEN: Any time, Jon.
KEITH (scoffing): Give me a break. Who in their right mind would skip work for a Mets game?

AND WHAT'S ALLISON'S EXCUSE?

*miffed* That Countdown was horrible...

Is it just me, or is he moving about more now that he, oh, has a fracture in his foot? *sighs* KO, you dolt.

I miss Keith too, which is why I watched the Red Sox/Yankees game instead. You know, like him.

Allison Stewart left MSNBC for NPR. Pretty good excuse.

And Monica Novotny has been Keith's reporter/occasional sidekick since Countdown began. She's been away on maternity leave for what seems like forever now. The lady holds her own with Keith, so don't sell her short. Tonight was her first night in the Big Chair.

I thought Allison was getting a new show on MSNBC! *hopes destroyed* I love her. I seriously love her... *will miss her terribly*

She holds her own against KO? I didn't get that vibe from her at all. *winces*

Allison has a show on NPR now. Maybe she couldn't fill in for KO.

Monica used to do the News Quiz with KO every Friday. The answers KO got wrong raised money for charity. The previous head honcho at MSNBC hated it, so they axed it... which is sad.

She does hold her own against KO, when he is there. It is nice of him to let her have such a big opportunity. At least she wasn't Amy Rohrbach or, gulp! Alex Witt

I LOVE ALEX

D: D: D: D:

*sobs*

She's so cute and she tries so hard. And she has really lovely cleavage. She can be like a tiny blonde ... vagina'd Keith when she really wants to be. ;;

doh... should've read the previous post on Allison's new job...

Anyway,... Witt is pretty, but her perceived political leanings get on my nerves.

Monica did well, for the most part. She did miss a couple of jokes that deserved a smirk... like the Buttafucco (sp?) joke... I cringed at that one. Also, the interview with Rachel Maddow would have been better had KO been there. At least Rachel picked up the slack...

But Alison Stewart is married to Bill Wolff, the vice-president of MSNBC primetime programming. So I doubt she and MSNBC have parted ways unamicably, or that she won't be back every now and then.

hah, my mom and i were discussing anderson cooper's sexuality today, a carry over from a conversation we were having all last week (first she asked if he was gay, then she asked if i was his new girl friend, then she asked if him and jeff corwin were making gay love babies in the rainforest)

Aw, really? I kinda liked Monica! I agree with the above poster that she's a damn sight better than Amy Rohrbach. (Bleurgh.)

Hey, wait, if we count up all the vacation days that Jon Stewart and Colbert take, they've GOT to be more than what Keith does! Plus, Keith does an hour 5 nights a week solo, and they do HALF an hour, FOUR nights a week, with filmed bits by other people, AND they take off for one or two weeks at a time!

I bet it all adds up.

I bet Keith gets to take off for sports stuff because he can claim it's for his ESPN work. Keep that foot elevated, tall man.

Keith takes off maybe two full weeks (not including winter holiday season) per year. He didn't this past spring, but the spring before that he was doing Countdown every night he was in Florida for spring training.

I don't think he actually needs an excuse to take the occasional night for a ballgame (and we'll start seeing more of those), just a single vacation day now and then.
