:starry-eyed:

You know, last night when O'Donnell came on Keith's show, I muted it because I remember him from the HuffPo (which I literally check four times a day) and his bitchslapping of My Candidate. So I personally didn't hear his Edwards slam.

But when KO did that little apology? I'm so deliriously thrilled. :3

My only hope is that Lawrence O'Donnell never shows up on Countdown again. A girl can dream.

Am going to bed very early tonight. Why? Well, I'm glad you asked.

My speech teacher's been bugging me for a while now to sign up for the National Forensics League competitions. They're basically speech contests with categories like extemporaneous, radio broadcast, humorous interpretation, original oratory, improv duet, etc. I finally caved in this week after months of her nagging me, I agreed to go watch a contest and see if I wanna do it.

So, I handed in the permission form today and had this conversation with my teacher.

Lucy: So, can I watch Alec do his radio bit?
Mrs. C: As long as it's not scheduled during extemp, sure.
Lucy: I don't plan on watching extemp though.
Mrs. C: I know, but I signed you up for the extemp competition.
Lucy: But I'm just watching!
Mrs. C: Oh, please. I signed you up weeks ago.
Lucy: :freaks out:

So, yeah. Tomorrow, I'm doing extemp. It's divided into two rounds, one for foreign affairs (WHICH I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT AND WOULD HAVE RESEARCHED IF I WAS WARNED) and one for domestic issues. I'll be given three prompts, will pick from one, and then have a half hour to come up with a seven minute speech, then perform it with no notes.

:scream:

For that reason, I'm going to bed. Wish me luck! D:
