:listening to Romney's speech on Countdown:

WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?

FUCK YOU, ROMNEY. ATHEISTS ARE PEOPLE TOO.

"Freedom requires religion just as religion requires freedom. Freedom opens the windows of the soul so that man can discover his most profound beliefs and commune with God. Freedom and religion endure together, or perish alone."

HOW.... HOW....

How can he even say that?!

I wanna cry. I can't believe someone who openly bigoted against people like me could be a frontrunner for the damn Presidency.

Jesus Herbert Walker Christ.

-Luce

ETA: Okay, one? If Romeny comes anywhere near Missouri, I'm going to go to one of his rallies with a big fucking sign that says "Atheists are people too".

Two, I have regained my love of Mr. Olbermann. The sly acknowledgement of his SCs being written off as the same ol' thing each time, then basically saying, "your point is?" makes me very happy.

Oh, what the hell?! The more words that come out of Romney's mouth, the more I want to hit him over the head with something heavy.

I love that two of our frontrunners are religious bigots and the other is so inconsistent, he can't be trusted to hold an opinion for more than a week.

As an atheist, this scares the shit outta me.

God, what the fuck is wrong with America that this bastard has more than a fair shot at becoming PotUS?

Dude, the reason he's so far ahead is because the Mormons? They are fucking organized. I was friends with a bunch of them in high school and learned their Mormony ways.

Don't you love how his whole speech was in doublespeak? It was crazy. He doesn't want to have religion affect politics but he wants to keep God in the government. Makes no sense.

That and his favorite book is Battlefield Earth. I mean, come on. Just that and if people took the time to research what Mormonism entails it would ensure that he would never be elected. Yet, I have little faith in humanity so who knows.

So yes, I agree with you whole-heartedly. I even made a facebook group against him in my fit of rage. ARGH.

Why did I read that? I want to barf.

Also, you did not 'vanquish' the Soviet Union, Romney. The Soviet Union fell on its own, though the insane arms race with the US contributed to ruining the economy. Lean history, for crying out loud.

Also, several of the founding fathers were not that Christian, sheesh. A fact so often conveniently overlooked.

As a resident of the state he's from I feel I should apologize for the actions of Mitt.

You see dear Luce, the all the wannabe presidents act as though they shouldn't be elected or rejected because of their faith (or lack there of) but their all pandering to the religous because there's more of them in the U.S then the less religously inclined.

Things have come so far from the days when the president could say "Yes I'm a catholic but it has nothing to do with why you should elect me" And actually mean it.

Is that really true though? Because I thought I saw polls that indicated that the active church-attending portion of the country is actually a minority.

But they go to the elections more than the average non-church-going folk do.
