ETA: Yahtzee was interviewed by Australian Gamer:

7. If you had an unlimited budget, and an office full of minions, what game would you most like to create? And what would you have the minions do after they’d finished making your game?

If you asked me this question once a year I'd probably have a different answer for you each time, I get a lot of ideas for big games that I sometimes like to script out knowing I probably won't get the chance to make them for real. Right now I have an idea for a steampunk FPSRPG incorporating real-time space travel, set in an alternative 19th century when a British navy spaceship flies around the solar system encountering alien races from various works of Victorian pulp sci-fi. I have a design document for it. So if I do acquire a professional team within the next few months I'll probably get started on that before something new distracts me.

Since I am really desperate for any steampunk video games, I must say, "HELL YES" to this.

Too true. I love the comments on the video, that so many people were surprised he really talks like that and it's not audio editing.

I aim to please!

You should read "The Difference Engine" by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling if you are interested in steampunk. It is the quintessential steampunk novel (and co-authored by William Gibson!).

:jots that down on her list of books she will buy when she has a job, right under "Smoke and Mirrors":

Hey, how many of these games do you know? Any of them I should play? I mean, besides the impossible-to-torrent Arcanum?

(Speaking of, I want to talk games with you guys later. I know Flaky's sleeping.)

I'm a very sporadic video player - when I buy I game I plan on being married to it for 60+ hours, and since I have little free time, I only buy games that really get my attention.

The ones I can vouch for are the Final Fantasy series, and I have a passing acquaintance with Castlevania and Steambot Chronicles. In general, Final Fantasy is good, with some titles being great or even spectacular. I think FFXII is spectacular; I've also been playing it for 160+ hours and I haven't finished it. But clearly it is awesome enough for me to play for that long.

The wiki doesn't list it, but I think the Myst series does have some steampunk elements, although it takes place on other worlds. But a lot of the technology and aesthetic is similiar. I've played all of those - they are all good, except Myst V. Those you should be able to torrent easily enough. I would play them in order, since the story carries from one game to the next.

Yeah, I just tried to call Ashley and got voicemail, so I guess she is dead to the world (and she can read this later, ha!). Once she returns to the land of the living, we can totally do that! I'm about to go clean out the garage and play with my next raygun. After teaching all day, I need the stress relief!

Speaking of the raygun, I noticed something funny. When Ashley sent the gun pics, there really delayed. Also, we'd been making fun of NSA wiretapping and trying out all the terrorist keywords ("death to America", "Allah", etc). My phone is Verizon, which we know is part of the wiretapping program.

Therefore? The NSA delayed the pics to make sure we weren't terrorists.

SEE? IT ALL MAKES SENSE.

Growr! A friend told me that he made a personal appearance in that clip and then spent the next hour or so mocking me for the way I apparently "squealed."

I want to marry him, but I don't think he'd move to America. *sigh* I guess that means I'll have to fly to Australia.
