So, as a graduation gift (ha), Mum got me a Nintendo DS. We've yet to pick up any games for it though and now she is trying to sway me to get a PSP instead, mostly because she likes the graphics better. Wotev. Pixels > Polygons.

But to humor her, I made two lists of NDS and PSP games I know I'd play. My conclusions:

NDS
  1. Professor Layton

  2. LoZ: Phantom Hourglass

  3. The Ace Attorney series (four games)

  4. Final Fantasy III

  5. Elite Beat Agents

  6. Lego Star Wars - The Complete Saga

  7. The World Ends With You

  8. Sprung (only because I already know it from an LP and it is hilariously bad)

Games: 11

PSP
  1. Patapon

  2. Daxter

  3. Kingdom of Paradise

  4. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness

  5. Loco Roco or Lumines (cute casual games, kinda interchangable to me)

Games: 5

Am I missing anything? Also, Mum keeps trying to get me to add FFVII: Crisis Core to the PSP list. Fuck no. I have FFVII. Ugh.

Are there any Gameboy Advance games you'd want to add to your DS list?

<.<

I use mednafen and play those. I loved Minish Cap and never got past the first boss of Metroid Zero Mission because I am made of fail. Metroid Fusion rocked tho.

See I have both and love them both for different reasons. I use my DS to play time wasters (like Planet Puzzle League and Nintendogs) and my crack addiction known as The Phoenix Wright series (I love shouting "OBJECTION" way too much.). My PSP I use to listen to MP3's and watch movies (since I don't have an Ipod) and play what I like to call my ass kicking games (FF:Crises Core ((which is nothing like FFVII)) God of War, Silent Hill Origins, Katamari Damancy, Metal Gear Soild.) So it all depends on what types of games you like more.

Gah, I've been meaning to make an icon like yours but since I went to Ubuntu, I lost the font Yahtzee uses. V. sad, 'cause his delivery of that bit cracked my shit up.

I've played a bit of the Ace Attorneys on my emu I'm using to test out games and love the style so much. And the stylus control really appeals to me for some reason.

See, I have a Zune and a laptop. So I wouldn't use the PSP for music, movies, or internets (btw, how is the net support for surfing?). And I'd only play Katamari Damacy out of those, tho I read several reviews saying the controls are worse than usual, and that is off-putting.

My thing with Crisis Core is just my hate of FFVII's universe. I just really loathe the characters.

Thanks for the insight!

Tell your mom Crisis Core sucked.

Ace Attorney...the first one is the best. Second is good too. It kind of goes downhill from there.

Phantom Hourglass is love, though.

Um, you might want to add Pokemon Diamond.

Also, remember the DS is region-free. I recommend getting one of the Taiko Drum Master games (in fact, I'd recommend those over Elite Beat Agents). Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side is fabulous for improving Japanese language skills, and I recommend grabbing a Prince of Tennis title if you can find one cheap just for some all-round bobbleheaded fun.

I played part of Apollo Justice. I think it's cute. :3

No, no more Pokemon, I think. The plotless wonder that it is.

I love that its region free, but I regrettably like to be able to read the text of the games I play. Oh, and it'd be impossible to get any foreign games in Missouri without coughing up a lotta money.

The DS is region free? That's good, as I'd prefer the Japanese Elite Beat Agents of the NA one (The Japanese edition has "Koi no Dance Site"!)

The DS can play games from anywhere except China.
