Mildly unrelated, but I've checked the internet and news every day since the Olympics started, hoping Canada had gotten a medal yet, and they still haven't. I'm so preemptively discouraged this year that I don't think I've watched a single event.

I used to watch Formula 1 racing, and eventually stopped because the same fucking driver won the Championship year after year. It gets...dull! There's no joy, or excitement. Give others a chance, I guess?

Canada tends to do better during the Winter Olympics, I think, though I hope things pick up and they start doing better.

there's a part of me that says: hey he's earned some of the glory, and some time in the spotlight.

but a huge part (like, 89%) of me says: Hey! what about all those other kids who worked their asses off to make it past the auditions and practiced for years to get where they are?
