The Rants.

Slashy's Rant:
As I am no longer a whore of teh Slashy, I am unsure of her boobs. I imagine they are rather nice. But *sniffle* I am not one of her whores. *feels dejected*
Bekkah's Rant:
I know next to nothing about the actor, so let's try his character. I like Daniel. I know I shouldn't. Ya know how everyone (including myself) bitches loud and long about how annoying Carter is, how perfect and Mary-Sue she is? A quick gender switch for Danny, and the same accusations, I bet you. Despite that, I like him. His overactive eyebrows annoy me, but I like him. It may be the slasher in me cause Jack and Daniel are the most canonically supported fanon slash pairing I've yet seen (no, I'm not counting Carson and Rodney. Shut up.). My hate for the Sam/Jack ship may also be reason. Who knows.
Over time, he's definately grown on me. I nearly cried when Meridan finished. I hated Jonas cause I could only see him as 'Not-Daniel'. Don't worry, Summer, I'm better now and not longer bitter.
Lancey-boy's Rant:
I am not fully dedicated to Sony. Let me point that out now and wait for the Satanic Nintendo Fanboys drag me to hell.
That said, it's still my favorite. I started on the SNES, but my first real taste of gaming was Spyro on the PSX. So, I stuck with them. That loyalty rewarded me handsomely; Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Squenix, Konami, Sucker Punch, etc. My first real feeling of "wow, this is fuckin' awesome" was a PS2 moment. It was Zone of Enders, my second time through the game. I'd gotten really, really efficient with my killing, completing most levels without any damage. Circle the enemy about ten time in two seconds, get them confused, upward slash. I was unstoppable. That game won me over. Made me feel good.
Then I caved and got a GC. I wasn't impressed. Sorry, Lance, it's the truth. But I stcuk with it, as I had started on Nintendo, I was damn well gonna give it a fair chance. So I played Wind Waker. Meh. Played Animal Crossing. Quirky, but still meh.
Then, Tales of Symphonia. Holy shit. The greatest damn RPG ever. The game was flawless. When was the last time you were shocked at a game's plot? How about shocked more than three times? Nothing comes to mind? Play ToS. With it, the system was redeemed.
Now, to find another really cool game for it.
(As I have never played an XBox, since the huge controller makes it literally impossible for me to play, I can pass no judgement. Seriously, the controller is like holding two loaves of bread.)
My own rant (inspired by Lancey):
In the SGA fandom, we have lots of people. Therefore, we have lots of pairings. I have an opinion of most of them.
McKay/Sheppard: Okay, I admit that this one does have a few good fics. Namely, thegrrl's fics and danVers's work. But do the two have canon chemistry? Eh... As friends. Rodney and John will be, by season two, best friends. Sure, Rodney annoys the shit outta John and Rodney is irritated by John's casual 'it'll all work out' attitude, but they click.
I have weird vibes on them too. McKay is a Kinsey 3.5 to 4.5. He's bi and I've seen him as that since I saw "Rising". He'd experiment, ne? Scientific curiousity that advanced to a aspect of his life. Sheppard... I don't know. He eyes up literally everyone he meets. Hell, I doubt he's aware he's doing it. But he'll act like he's about to jump Ford one minute, then turn around and be Major Straighty McBreederson.
I have naught against the McSheppers. Even I, the dedicated OTPer, have drabbled in their domain. But canonically, there's nothing. All scenes of slashiness in McShep are fic, not canon. Slashy moments must be fabricated.
So, this is not my OTP.
Ford/Sheppard: This one doesn't seem likely. That's my main problem. Besides, the two clash in their personalities. And I can't picture Ford in a smutfic. But the main problem: the two are military. They both know becoming involved is not a good idea in the least. I can't see them risking it, especially Sheppard.
Sheppard/Teyla: Sorry, no. The two have a very bro/sis relationship. They help each other, being each other's voice of reason. But they aren't involved like that.
Sheppard/Weir: Hetero OTP numero uno. This one is... tricky. My main problem is the fic. Look, people; it'd be a very, very fragile relationship. Neither can become compromised, neither can give themselves over enough to a romance. They are two parts of the ruling triad and will clash a lot. If it did happen, it'd never be the happy, fuzzy love most fics I've seen portray. It'd be hectic, uncomfortable, and mostly an affair rather than a relationship to be taken seriously.
Weir/McKay: Erm. This one gives me shivers. I honestly don't know what to think. Is is canonical? Yes. Is it possible? Very. But while I see tons of chemistry, no pairing makes me more uncomfortable. I can see why'd they'd get together, how it'd work, and the way they'd act. But... I dunno. Anyone know of a good fic to help me out here?
Ford/McKay and Ford/Beckett: I lied above when I said McWeir makes me most uncomfortable. These are it. One, where the fuck do you get Ford/McKay?! And two, Carson wouldn't go with Ford. Look at the canon. They are so not compatiable, it shocks me. No, just... no. Move on.
Teyla/Weir: And all the pervs scream, cheering on their fantasy. Scary thing? I can see it. It'd be a comfort sex!relationship. They are very alike. Both leaders, both in a position of great stress, both fighting to save Atlantis. It'd work, and I do say this as one who isn't interested in femslash at all.
Ford/Teyla: Cute. Not enough canon to decide if it'd work, but cute.
My OTP - McKay/Beckett: The original slash pairing, people (check it. BecKay's comm was up earlier.) and my first true slash love. They had the canon in five minutes of the premiere. See Castalia's ship manifesto for an through look at the OTP. They are legal (civilian/civilian is allowed, people), snarky as hell, have the best fic writer in the fandom, have the single sexiest accent on earth, and have the most intelligent fanbase. Everyone goes for McShep cause, hey, they're in every episode! But I like Beckett/McKay. They had me at "I break things like this!" and haven't let go.
If anyone mentions Chaya, I'll hurt them.
Hope you all enjoyed them.
