Playing Snake Eater. Having way too much fun, I have to say. I've crawled through at least 90% of the game so far. And I'm constantly messing with my camo. I love it. I may also have a wee crush on young Ocelot? He is just so... brash and cute and he meows and his uniform is adorable. I keep trying to remember what a douchebag he grows up to be but... but... He's mah kitty boy. ♥

Only complaint: I NEED A MAP. Oh fuck, I miss the Soliton Radar System so damn much. I don't even need the dots and cones- I just need a fucking map. I am constantly getting lost. I fail so hard.

Also, I posted fic over at [livejournal.com profile] mgs_slash. It's unbeta'ed and an odd crossover, but... I tried? I dunno. I need a steady beta for this fandom.

Back to MGS3. Ugh, I have such a headache but I can't stop playing.

ETA: With that lab coat and a pair of glasses, Snake could sneak into Black Mesa, amirite, amirite?

'Cause, yanno.... he looks like Gordon Freeman...?

ETA2: LJ, stop not sending me my comments plzkthxbai.

Gordon Freeman vs Snake? That's a fight I'd love to see.

I love that hiding in the grass makes the enemy not see you. :) Crawling around rocks.

Re: the map - INORITE? It's driving me batty, especially since I suck at figuring out where to go in games even when I do have one. And don't even get me started on the fixed camera angle. *grumglemutter*

Also, re: camo - My cousin told me that after he beat the Boss at the end of the game the first time and got her sweet-ass gun, he played through again in shirtless-camo and just ran around shooting everybody on sight, Rambo-style.

I find that as long as your camo index is above 70-75%, the guards don't see you. I futzed with my camo a lot, so I almost always had it that high. Also, if you're playing on Very Easy, I hear you have an item that boosts your camo index by a large amount. The EZ Gun, I think it's called. It's a tranq gun with a laser sight, fast reload rate, and infinite ammo. That is what I call a gamebreaker.

It took a while to get used to the maplessness and some of the early areas are bullshitty about it, but it does get easier later once you've figured out the way the game thinks. Also, listening to directions is a must. Took me too long to figure out when so-and-so say go northwest, then east in the next area, I need to actually remember that.

The Patriot, yeah. I'm going to have no use for it in my second runthrough- I always play pacifist in MGS games. Tranqs and stun grenades only. When I got to Sorrow's river, the only ghosts were two scientists I accidentally killed before I got the hang of interrogation.

Hell, I even beat all the bosses by tranqing. Even the Boss. Doing it that way nets you a nice bonus too. :D Oh wait, I killed the Pain with a shotgun. Fuck him and his fucking bees. He had to die.
