luciazephyr- I need to replay both to be sure, but Snake Eater may be my favorite game in the series now. I was just having so much fun from start to finish.
- Yes, I cried.
- I was actually really thrown by the 'sex scene'. I actually said to the screen, "this is a video game! You can't have sex!" Snake and EVA were set on proving me wrong.
- I.... liked EVA. I have no idea why. She had all the trapping of a female character I tend to hate. I even thought in her intro, after she unzipped her suit, "I'm not going to like you at all". But I did! She was so damn charming (which is funny, if you think about it). And the fact I knew she was going to betray me from the moment she didn't know the password made me like her more.
- Ocelot stole the entire game for me. I fucking hate who he grows up to be, but the young, brash, awesome Adamska? I cannot express how much I loved him. I was always rooting for him in every scene and fight. When he complimented me during the fight with Volgin, I might have squealed out loud.
- The final fight between BB and Ocelot was the gayest thing in MGS history. Even more than anything Snake and Otacon have done.
I now really ship young!Ocelot/BB. Fuck.I loved it to pieces to the point where I have a save from just before the fight with the Boss so I can watch it again. Possibly my favorite sequence in MGS. - YES, I EVEN LIKE HIS RIDICULOUS GESTURES. Maybe because I have a similar affliction and see no problem with it. :p
- God, the fight with The Boss was gorgeous. If Kojima's team pulled this off with the power of the PS2, I have to seriously question why we ever need a more powerful system. Seems pointless- between MGS3, Okami, and Shadow of the Colossus, we've got the pinnacle of beauty in games.
- Okay, I'm lying. I love being able to see Otacon in MGS4 with the tiredness around his eyes, the lines around his mouth, and the way his hair flips out at the end.
- What else... Oh, I got the Iguana rank. I think that's because I was constantly futzing with my camo. I really adored the camo system. It was ingenious and I wish all stealth games had it. :D
- I still love the MGS4 post-credits coda best, but MGS3 is a close second. And his line about no one figuring out he was ADAM was awesome, because if there are any idiots who didn't figure it out, it's like he's going nyah nyah.
- I fucking ♥ Ocelot.
One last thought: MGS1 was a fourth wall breaking ball of ridiculousness. MGS2 was Kojima making a artsy statement how much he hates gamers. MGS3, tho, seems to be a pretty straightforward game, unless I totally missed the underlying meta/crazy. I find that weird. I feel like that's important somehow, but the smart meta part of my back is still going "OMG OCELOT ILU~!" so yeah.
That's all from me. Now I have to go replay the whole thing.
