If I had the money, I'd buy my mother a soft, warm afghan robe. I'd buy her a little music player filled with Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, and all those horrible hair bands she loves. I'd buy her new glasses to help her headaches stop. I'd buy her a ticket to that new Brad Pitt movie along with a nice dinner where she doesn't have to worry about spending too much. I'd buy her anything she'd want if I could.

But I can't. Because after coming up on a year of searching, I still can't find a job.

As if I didn't hate the holidays enough.
