Just got home. Head sore from being in town all day without much sleep. Got quite a few applications. Got... hit on. That was weird. I waved the guy off. Creepy.
Also dropped by the little video game store in downtown since
firefly99 told me picking up the original MGS1 would be worth my time. Mr. Store Owner had three copies of the game.
And he offered to drop the price to nineteen dollars. Still out of my price range, but nice. I'm gonna try to emulate the game first and if I can't I'll probably cave and sell back a handful of my own games to get it. Damn the pull of MGS. Damn it to hell.
I'm about to either play Mother 3 or throw on RENT. Seems once every six months I rock out to it for a week, then don't touch it again for a long while.

ETA: SPORTS NIGHT BLOOPER REEL! Oh, my lovely foul-mouthed boys and girls. How I miss you. ♥

Mr. Store Guy: I got three. Twenty five dollars.
Lucy: Holy crap, really?
Mr. Store Guy: :rattles off facts about how rare the game is:
Lucy: You know, I often wish you were like every other used game dealer and sold all your old gens for two bucks.
Mr. Store Guy: :grins in a throughly smug manner: Yeah, I know.

Date: 2009-01-07 06:57 am (UTC)I mean, I knew they would be from reading your summaries, but it's really different. I love Naomi's old voice much more than the remake's version. And Snake sounds ridiculously young. It's so weird.

Date: 2009-01-07 10:43 am (UTC)and easily the hottest he sounds ever.I don't hate Naomi's TTS voice as much as everyone else does, but the MGS1 Naomi has a different feel - more sarcastic and a bit more playful, I think. (My favourite Naomi voice was in MGS4, though - her voice over performance was BEWITCHING AND COMPLETELY FANTASTIC and basically single-handedly redeemed the character for me).
I like most of the original voices and performances better, but that's not exclusive. The emotional scenes between Snake and Meryl are far better acted in TTS, so prepare for some fun Narm there.
