To my FList: A PSA!
90% of you are Stargaters, mourning the season break of our two shows. Fear not! You may have a new obsession in the form of a new FOX show called House, M.D. (often just House).
I could try to summarize it, but I'll just start by stealing this from a fangirl named
kwistina:
House[FOX]- This is my new favourite show. I am absolutely in love with everything about it. Yes, it's a medical drama, but it's more than that. The doctor's aren't perfect, they aren't all sleeping together, and yes, sometimes patients die. Dr. Gregory House is a brilliant diagnostician who hates patients. He believes that everyone lies, so he doesn't trust anyone. He's sarcastic and bitter, and generally a misanthrope. But he has a good reason. He suffered an infarction in his leg that crippled him and caused him to be in constant pain (which he controls by his addiction to Vicodin) and to walk with a cane. House finds people to be puzzles and finds them challenging, and thus surrounds himself with a team of doctors that he tries everyday to figure out. He is by no means an asshole, although some members of his staff would say otherwise. Deep down he cares about his patients and his work. He does have a friend, Dr Wilson, who he turns to when he needs a confidante. He's very gaurded, and a bit of a mystery, but that's what makes the character so enjoyable. He says what we're all thinking, and doesn't take any crap from anyone. He pushes buttons, but he knows people's limits and there is always method to his madness. This show is full of great quotes and one-liners. It's well written and Hugh Laurie is amazing in the role of Dr. House. If you're not watching it, you should be.
That sums up the main character. Then you have Wilson, Cuddy, the Ducklings (fandom's cute name for the collective of Chase, Cameron, and Foreman), and a few others.
So, why should SG people watch it? Look, we all love Sci-Fi, but you all know why you really watch SG: humor and drama. And this show has it by the boatloads. If I wouldn't get beaten to death for it, I'd say House, M.D. is more of my favorite than SGA. This is high praise from me since I've watched Stargate since I was seven. Plus, slashers and shippers will love this show. You got a slash pairing that is more text than subtext and a very interesting ship pairing that no one can turly understand. And don't we all love fandoms like that?
Come on. You know you want to.
Not convinced? Fine, whatever. But do me a favor? Watch the pilot.
---Instructions on How To Get House, M.D.---
First off, download the Bittorrent cilent from http://www.bittorrent.com/. It's a kinda-P2P service, but mainly used for television downloading rather than music or software.
Now, I'll list the links to each episode. Each one is 350mb (so depending on your computer, you may want them written to CDs or something) which is TV quality image. You should be able to simply click the link and the BT will start. You can run three Torrent downloads at any given time. I generally make a folder for a show and download them all to there, turning on the torrent before I go to sleep and letting it run overnight. I have DSL and it takes me 6 hours per episode on a good day. Some may take longer, some shorter.
:::Torrents:::

NOTE: It's come to my attention that these torrents, at any time, may decide not to work. To find the torrents, go to http://torrentchannel.com/. The House torrents are under the 'ev-' and 'ho-' lists.
There. That's every episode, man.
PS:

Oh, and lately that video of those Japanese Nintendo employees bashing the f$%k out of a PSP, and returning it for their money back. That needs an Academy Award, there ^_^
