I'm watching Twilight.

Mum is punishing me for my SMeyer hate by making me watch the movie.

Someone send help, please. Or at least tell me Charlie, Emmett, and Alice retain their awesome and that it helps against the horror of Edward and Bella.

Send help.

I've read enough. I like all the minor characters and I adored Jacob until Eclipse. Breaking Dawn was a stain on the written word though. :|

I... I read about a third of the first book. It was like watching a train wreck, except eventually I couldn't take it anymore.

IAWTC. Carlisle and Charlie made that movie bearable for me. I never got through the books.

Honestly I found the movie pretty good for a laugh. It wasn't the excruciating experience trying to read the books was.

For about a week, I really badly wanted someone to write me Carlisle/Edward. But thankfully I got over it.

Is that even remotely accurate to the things that actually transpire in the book, or were they just being hyperbolic?

Oh, honey.

Twilight means never having to say you're kidding.

I've not read them (Yeah, 30-something guy reading Stephanie Meyer would virtually guarantee the cops knocking on my door on suspicion of pedophilia or something), but Jesus, how on earth does a poorly-written Mary Sue get to be so damn popular, especially among older women, some of whom have daughters?!

... Because Twilight is one long Self-Insert fantasy. Duuuuh. :3

:( I liked it better when Self-insert fantasy was limited to Choose Your Own Adventure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choose_Your_Own_Adventure) books.

The one I remember best was The Trumpet of Terror (http://www.gamebooks.org/show_item.php?id=509).

(*cackles*)

So...how did you feel about the movie? I actually kind of liked it, especially since Bella was slightly less of an asshole.
