Fir3fly belongs to

Nov. 12th, 2005 08:34 amThere was recently a challenge submitted to the Numb3rs fic comms. A challenge concerning a Firefly/Numb3rs crossover.
I'm here to stake claim on our own plotline. I'm protective like that.
Hopefully my darling co-author won't destroy me for pimping ourselves, but, ai ya, this is TOO good.
Rather than the challenge's thought on Charlie meeting River,
hobbit_feet and I are writing a fuller crossover. We're tentatively calling it "Fir3fly".
It'll be a lenghty series of the new crew of Serenity. None of the original nine are around, instead the characters we know and love from Numb3rs will be pullin' jobs in the `Verse. Now, I know people are gonna think "hell, it's just pulling a Replace with 'Mal' to 'Terry'. Lazy authors".
Not so.
We've drafted all new plots. Some are very loosely based off original episodes, but with the exception of our pilot, "Desperately Seeking Serenity", we have seven (or more) brand new 'episodes' to explore with new paths to take and new relationships to explore. "Fir3fly" will also involve a bit of het and a dash of slash, for the shippers and slashers (I'm personally a slasher, but even I fell in love this idea for het... It's good.)
So our basic premise?
Seven people looking into the blackness of space to see seven different things aboard the Firefly Serenity. Serenity is owned by Captain Terry Lake, a war vet from the Unification War of the Allied and Independant Nations. Having lost the war, the Captain found herself a crew and a ship to fly. Together, they do crime. Life was floating simple for the tiny family until they took on one Dr. Donald Eppes on Persephone. From there... well, you may already think you know this tale. You'd be wrong.
Also, it should be noted this story is not just for Browncoats. With a opening 3-Minute Primer that explains the basics of the new `Verse and the careful way HF and I are writing it, even non-Firefly fans can understand what's happening.
That's the round-up. I've claimed this idea and it is now ours.
Comin' soon: "Desperately Seeking Serenity".
Now, I need to finish writting the thing I just shamelessly pimped! *laughs*

P.S.
hobbit_feet, please don't kill me. Remember, murder is bad, even when the person truly deserves it.
