No, see, I don't even care about that. I care that he's having a politician host. Not a reporter or anyone in the news industry, but the FUCKING DNC CHAIRMAN.
That is so incredibly not on, I don't even have words for it.
Howard hasn't been the DNC chair for a while now...he officially joined CNBC as a commentator some months back so he is actually an NBC employee now.
Yeah he didn't do so great reading the teleprompter but he's a great voice in the health insurance debate for a public option so he is cemented in my affections.
I know that. And I really don't care. DNC Chairmen, former or otherwise, should not be hosting opinion shows that want to retain an ounce of credibility.
I don't care about his reading fail either. I was more bothered by "the Democrats" being replaced with "we" for the entire show.
Alot of pundits/hosts are former politicians .. Hosting a straight news reporting program may be a problem but for an opinion based program I don't see the problem. Its not like Countdown doesn't have an acknowledged left slant. If they had him sit in for Brian Williams that might get squicky.
So he used to be a politician. People are allowed to change careers.
