Watching the Star Trek Reboot with Mum. On a whim, I decided to count the lens flares.

We're not a third of the way in. I've found about 73.

I've decided to stop counting.

ETA: Even the special features are filled with flares. Jesus. Also, yeah, 1003 flares, not including credits.

The credits have MANY flares. MANY.

Someone in [livejournal.com profile] ontd_startrek went through the pain of actually counting all of them. I don't remember the exact number, but it was over 1300.

I love that there's a whole chunk of the special features that just basically acts like a love letter to lens flares and the anamorphic widescreen format. Oh, JJ. You silly bastard. FLAAAARE. I just finished watching the film again for the millionth time - credits are playing right now. GOSH I LOVE THIS FILM. ♥

We just watched that! It was very interesting. I kinda forgive it more, seeing JJ talk about it. THE CAMERA SHAKING! That was genius, and so much better than an actual Shaky Cam, yanno.
