Tomorrow is my birthday.

Also, I am thinking of playing Kingdom of Loathing again. I really loved that game. I played a Disco Bandit first time around. Only thing stopping me is that getting by without a nice donation of meat (in-game currency) from one of the big established players is hard. I wish I could find the guild I was part of because before leaving last time, I gave them all my meat (otherwise it would time out and be useless) which was about 150K. Not a massive amount but enough to buy ingredients for daily cocktailcrafting. I just wanna go, hey, it's me, can I get a quick few thousand to start myself off?
Oh well.

ETA: I have about $25 on a Barnes and Noble card from my relative. I have no idea what to get as B&N does not carry video games. Any ideas? D8

Date: 2010-01-21 10:35 pm (UTC)Books... Mary Roach's Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers is simultaneously fascinating and hilarious. It might seem like a random thing to recommend, but I had a great time reading it.
Alternately, her book Bonk is all about sex, and just as funny and informative.

Date: 2010-01-22 03:30 am (UTC)I WOULD LOVE TO REC YOU BOOKS but my tastes are not your tastes, and that saddens me. But, just in case:
-"Turning on the Girls" by Cheryl Benard. It's Twenty Minutes into the Future, plus a revolution that put women in charge of the world. The main female character's role in the new world is to write proper, female-empowering porn for the new world order.
Her research is the best research.
The book thrives on breaking the fourth wall, and it's cute, even if it's het.
And if that's not your cup of tea, pick up some Gaiman or some Pratchett or some manga. Or Diana Wynn Jones, or Patricia Wrede.
Or just go and put off deciding and go back and oh, bookstores~ :swoon:
