Okay, so Mum and I are rewatching due South from the beginning. We own the RayV arc on DVD and the RayK arc on file as .avis I DLed years ago. Sadly, the .avi's are crap and Mum wants us to spring for the DVDs.

Anyone who's a dS fan knows this is easier said then done. There are multiple releases of the show. The American release was copied from the old VHSes and looks like shit. The Canadian was made from the masters and looks much better. Sadly, Amazon (US and CA) are both really vague on which set is which.

So basically, I'm asking if anyone knows what set I should be getting?

Also, rewatching this show, Mum and I have been keeping track of the defenestrations. We're to the second DVD and one occurs in every episode but one. Best running gag ever.

I didn't realise there were two releases, but the quality on my set is fine so I assume I have the Canadian release? The fact that it has a French version is probably indicative of this. :)

Anyway, looking at Amazon.ca I see boxes I recognize and ones I don't so I'm going to say the ones I know are the Canadian version.

I realise a lot of people like 3 and 4 and Ray K is their favourite, and feeling nostalgic I bought them but frankly having paid for them... I kind of wish I hadn't.

Neither Ray is my favorite per se. RayV I would hang out with and be pals with. RayK I ship with Fraser and enjoy their relationship more. And I thought the RayK's arc was better written, maybe because Gross had some more control and made everything a little more ensemble, if that makes sense?
