To those who also finished watching DW 505 "Flesh and Stone":
Did you catch it? Did you? I noticed it when I watched the episode but it only hit me when I read the TVT recap page on the episode.
About 17 minutes in, the Doctor leaves Amy with the clerics and goes off with River and Octavian.
Then he comes back and takes her hands and tells her she has to start trusting him and that she needs to remember what he told her when she was seven. Amy asks what he said, he says no, she has to remember.
Go back and watch that scene again. The Doctor is wearing his jacket, the one the angels took from him a few scenes before.
Oh my god, right? That's not the Doctor from that timeline! He's from the future (and definitely the future, not the past, I'll tell you why because I have a theory and I want this posted so I can look back and say I CALLED IT a la Colbert.
Okay. Okay. He's from the future and went back in time to set things in motion so that Amy would trust him and so she would remember what she told him all those years ago. Because he can't remember. All those cracks in time eating people's memories and erasing existences, one of the cracks is going to erase a bit of his memory (the Moff is being misleading by saying time travellers just have different perceptions of time-space, the sneaky bastard) and Amy will have to be there to remember it for him.
Now, in that future Doctor's timeline, he forgot and Amy either forgot too or wasn't there to remember for him. So he recalled that time can be rewritten, crossed his own timeline, and changed things. Everything hinges on that: Time can be rewritten. More appropriately, time just was rewritten.
I am calling this now. If this comes to pass, I want the bragging rights.

ETA: Just added my theory to the DW with spoilers WMG page. If I'm right about this, I will be insufferable for days.

Date: 2010-05-02 01:39 am (UTC)BRILLIANT. Wonderful! And, if it came from an ep generated by ANYONE but Moffat, I'd totally say "eh, it was a costume error," but since it was the Moff, omg I totally believe it.
Great catch!

Date: 2010-05-02 04:34 am (UTC)Holy shit. HOLY SHIT YOU'RE RIGHT. Also, his complete tonal change--agitated and telling her repeatedly to shut up when he was thinking out loud to soft and pleading when he was telling her to remember. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey, yo :O
OH MAN AND REMEMBER BACK IN "THE ELEVENTH HOUR" THERE WAS A BRIEF FLASH OF LITTLE AMELIA HEARING THE TARDIS AND LOOKING UP, JUST AFTER THE DOCTOR LEFT TO TAKE A SPIN IN THE NEWLY REFORMED TARDIS. OMG WHATEVER THE DOCTOR WANTED BLIND!AMY TO REMEMBER HAD TO HAVE BEEN SAID IN THAT SCENE.

Date: 2010-05-02 04:52 am (UTC)hmmmm maybe. I thought that was just her dreaming of the Doctor coming back for her and as she on some level thinks of herself as that little girl waiting for her raggedy Doctor, she just happened to be seven in her dream. BUT MAYBE I AM WRONG. MOFF IS EVIL LIKE THAT.
