I don't think I should have to say this, but keep this on the down low, guys. The only reason this isn't FLocked is because I haven't friended all my Dresdenverse peeps yet.
Yes. The guy whose work I wrote a novel of fanfic about. That guy.
Our story begins here, where I made a bitchy remark about That One Line of Ghost Story that I didn't like.
Right after, I tweeted "omg I can't believe I just tweeted that to him :face in hands:"
Then I got a direct message from Our Lord and Master, Jimmy B: "Why shouldn't you say something, if that's what you think, regardless of who I am? :)"
dsjgkherakjhgnkj :gibbers:
Lucy: oh jesus christ I didn't think you'd see that, my apologies, I'm gonna buy the book. I just didn't like that phrasing. oh god :genuflects?:
The Man, The Legend: Bear in mind that I never said anything about /human/ life. Harry's talking about life, generally, the ABC process.
Lucy: Duly noted. Honestly, there's a whole section of your fans that loves over-analyzing everything Harry says. Bound to backfire at sometime.
Lucy: See: many multiple fan discussions examining how Harry's gender issues relate to his past with consent issues. Or don't. Kinda embarrassing.
Jimmy From the Block: Look, fame and quasi-celeb status is nothing but faerie glamour. Don't ever consider those when you're speaking out. Total illusion. :)
His Royal Jimness: Oh god yeah, he totes SO much baggage. :D
Lucy: You just made this meta-writing fanfic writer very happy, good sir. Thank you. Hope to catch you on the book tour.
The Power That Be: It'll be nice to meetcha. :)
To summarize: Jim Butcher is really gracious when a fangirl is bitching about his book, there may be something to our fan theories about Harry's Issues, and I am a huge tool.
And I am soooo going to one of the book signings. Anyone else Missourian with tentative plans to do the same? We can all meet up and perv over John Marcone.
This fandom, man. So much love.
