luciazephyrWatching some Hawaii Five-0 reboot on mklutz's rec. Really like some parts of it, like the amazing characters and how visually pretty the show is. Really don't like other parts of it-- I know Five-Oh's flagrant disregard for police procedure is part of the point, but it turns my stomach what the team does in the name of "justice". Like, no. Fuck no. If these guys existed in real life, I'd fucking hate them.
On the other hand, I've figured out why it's so popular in fandom: H50 is SGA, but without the sci-fi and with more gay. Exact same team dynamic, same character-driven arcs taking precedence over plot arcs, same writing failings and strengths.
