Dec. 13th, 2011 03:18 pmShit, I'm doing that thing again where I take about four to six Excedrin a day, which if I do for much longer is going to make me extremely ill. Knowing my luck, it'll be Thursday, the day I do my final exams.
Anyone got headache advice maybe? The sort of headache that refuses to fall in the face of chamomile tea?

Get the right amount of sleep at the right time.
Warm compresses or cold compresses sometimes help, especially if you hurt in the eye region.

Ditto what the previous commenter said about water.
Is acupressure an option?
I'd say something about codeine being great, but I suspect your country may not sell it over the counter.
Good luck!

Date: 2011-12-14 01:07 am (UTC)If it's in your temples, it is likely due to not having enough food that day. If it is behind your eyes, I would try some mild cranial therapy -- press your thumbs between your eyebrows, following the curve of your skull, and see if you can shift the pressure in the cranial plates. If it's at the nape, it's a tension headache, and I would recommend massaging where the tendons join shoulder and neck.
My headaches are almost always due to dehydration and/or tension, so./two cents

Date: 2012-02-19 05:12 am (UTC)Besides actual meds I find migrastick very useful (it's basically a stick with a cold lotion that smells of peppermind, it cools the are that hurts and by smelling the peppermint you relax). Each stick lasts a long time so even though it's about 5 euro it's still worth it to me.
I also use deepfreeze because my headaches are mostly caused my back/neck pain so massaging that helps loosen everything up.
Oth, I had no idea chamomile tea could help... Gotta try that :)
