Shit, I'm doing that thing again where I take about four to six Excedrin a day, which if I do for much longer is going to make me extremely ill. Knowing my luck, it'll be Thursday, the day I do my final exams.

Anyone got headache advice maybe? The sort of headache that refuses to fall in the face of chamomile tea?

Water. If you aren't peeing every hour already, try drinking enough water so you are. Then taper before your final.

And ingest more potassium. Because otherwise you'll cramp up with all that water.

Get the right amount of sleep at the right time.

Warm compresses or cold compresses sometimes help, especially if you hurt in the eye region.

Deep heat or tiger balm or something warming on the back of the neck, high up where the tendons connect into the skull. Also pressure on the outside of the two tendons where they join into the skull.

Stretch. Particularly lat and trapesius stretches, and neck stretches.

Ditto what the previous commenter said about water.

Is acupressure an option?

I'd say something about codeine being great, but I suspect your country may not sell it over the counter.

Good luck!

Where is the headache? Is it located behind your eyes, in your temples, at the nape of your neck?

If it's in your temples, it is likely due to not having enough food that day. If it is behind your eyes, I would try some mild cranial therapy -- press your thumbs between your eyebrows, following the curve of your skull, and see if you can shift the pressure in the cranial plates. If it's at the nape, it's a tension headache, and I would recommend massaging where the tendons join shoulder and neck.

My headaches are almost always due to dehydration and/or tension, so./two cents

What they said, plus make sure you eat every two hours or so. Not a lot, maybe a 100 calories, and protein is best. It'll regular your blood sugar so you don't feel like shit when eating gets complicated. Try string cheese for protein to carry around.

Mmm... I'm assuming you get headaches regularly and this will still be somehow useful.

Besides actual meds I find migrastick very useful (it's basically a stick with a cold lotion that smells of peppermind, it cools the are that hurts and by smelling the peppermint you relax). Each stick lasts a long time so even though it's about 5 euro it's still worth it to me.

I also use deepfreeze because my headaches are mostly caused my back/neck pain so massaging that helps loosen everything up.

Oth, I had no idea chamomile tea could help... Gotta try that :)
