I don't think I have ever commented on your journal and I know that I'm just an unfamiliar voice in the crowd, but I just wanted to say that while I am disappointed that you've postponed The Matter of Chicago indefinitely, I am still very glad that you've written it because it is one of my favorite Dresden Files fics. Given what we've discussed regarding MoC, truthfully? I'm slightly surprised it hasn't been put on permanent hiatus prior to this. You look after yourself - that should be the priority.

I am so sorry to hear that you've been made to feel badly about your story - that shouldn't happen to anyone. Yes, there can be problems within any story that people may not like - and the proper action for that reader is just to stop reading it, not to berate the writer. However, I have seen that happen to a friend who writes BDSM stories at she had writer's block for years, and it was done to me over an mpreg story, and it is very disheartening. In fact, I haven't been able to work up the enthusiasm to continue writing in that mpreg verse, partly because of those reactions. So I definitely know where you are coming from, and I am giving you virtual hugs.

Take care of yourself, take care of your inner muse, and write what makes YOU happy. That's the most important thing in the world. In the meantime, know that there are many of us who love the MoC stories and that we appreciate your giving us these amazing versions of Dresden and Marcone.
