I propose that Friday be International LJ Whine Day.

That's right, WHINE day.

Friday is the day where you get to whine about anything you want; wether it be that nobody liked your really cool story, or the fact that your boss is totally out of it, they're ruining your show, or that you've still haven't gotten that damn pony you asked for when you were four and still expect every birthday.

Friends-lock it or not, whine about whatever you want, even if it seems totally stupid or childish, even if it's not "nice" or "mature", whine. Post a fandom post and a real life post, just whine about the stupid stuff that pisses you off or the talents you wish you had or the fact that there isn't any boy porn on the teevee. Include pictures, voicepost, just whine it up!

So, prepare your whine and pass the memeage around.

-Relatives are driving me fuckin' nuts. Did you know that I'm not allowed to walk barefoot on the carpet? Seriously, it apparently gets it dirty. *phfbt* Whatever, man. Also, these people insist on making me laugh, or else I apparently have no sense of humor. I find that vaguely insulting. I'm not the laugh-out-loud kind of person. I smile in varying degrees by how funny I find something. And, yes, I'm gonna stay in my room at times. I'm a teenager, I'm a fangirl, there's a HUGE generation gap in this apartment that makes it hard to communicate, and, by god, I like having someone to talk to. Furthermore, when I take the time to slowly explain 'geek things' in layman's terms, do not blow me off. You ask a question, I'm going to fuckin' well do my best to answer. Try to do your best to listen. And, my dear great Uncle? You don't know everything. Stop it. I'm not an idiot. And I've seen you watch the telly for cool trivia and turn around to try and pass off the knowledge as your own. Just because I have headphones on doesn't mean I can't see what you're doing, man.

-Numb3rs is driving me crazy. It's not a good show, the lack of improvement over the last season has me pissed, and it's like a stab to my perfectly just expectations. But I cannot get this show out of my head. I'm still writing the fic and I'm making art for a fanmix Chi and I made to the entire show. I... I dislike the show itself, but I love the characters. The thing about it is that it has such awesome characters, but writers who are afraid to push the limits and make these people as fucked-up and flawed as they are. Until I get that, I think I'll have to keep being fannish about this show and that irritates me.

-Doctor Who needs to get over itself. This fandom bitches and bickers over everything. Here's a WILD AND CRAZY IDEA: let people have their fuckin' opinions about the show (be it the Doctor's origins, the Doc/Companion relationship, his sexuality, or whatever) without flaming them, trying to use 'logic' to destroy them, or bad-mouthing them in your LJ. Jesus, people, chill the fuck out. The show isn't sacred, stop treating it like it is. (Another thing: using 'logic' or 'canon evidence'? Knock it off. The show has enough evidence for and against everything, it cancels out and leaves it open to intrepetation.)

-Florida also needs to chill out. You people just keep on rushing about, always in your cars, always yelling and bitching. Here's another Wild Idea: look around for a minute. LOOK at Florida. It is stunning. Stop to enjoy it and appreciate it every once and a while.

-Commenting is a good thing, people. Honestly, I get so fuckin' pissed off when you find something in the fandom that is just FTW and you read/gank/laugh/etc and then hit the back button and go about your day. HELLO. Take four seconds out of your day and leave a fucking well comment. Even if you're just saying which icon you're snagging, a line of the fic you really liked, or just saying 'good job'. Outside the obvious BNFs of fandom, no one gets the reviews they deserve. So it's my policy to always comment if I have even the vaguest impression of the thing I just read/saw. It's a nice thing to do and promotes fannish growth. It takes you less than a minute. Don't be lazy.

-SexGA, where the hell are our new promos?!

I think that's it for now. Made do more if it occurs to me.

-Luce

I love LJ Whine Day. *feels better now*

Though that was more rant-y than whine-y, wasn't it? Hm.

Your new name is Ranty McRantPants.

Word to the whole "Numb3rs" thing. I got really annoyed when, four or five episodes in, nothing had changed and they couldn't put a business top on Meghan.

And now I'm gonna ask a dumb question. What does FTW stand for? I know it as "Fuck the World", but I feel there's a different word usage here.

I accept this title and wear it proudly. *beam*

Despite her attire, Megan is one of the things that helps me get through the show. Megan is love, man. She drops in on the geeks, wears glasses, is sassy, smart, doesn't roll her eyes like the other goons, and she dated Larry. Megan is FTW.

FTW = for the win

I hear ya about the relatives. My relatives will asking questions about my fandoms and then blow me off as well. The worst part, though, is when they look at me and say "I am NOT interested in your crap" *sighs*

Also, I wasn't aware that there was drama going on in the Doctor Who fandom. My head is permanently up in the clouds, and there's free headspace right next to me if you'd like to come up here :-) Who is about acceptance, sharing, happiness, and laughter. Some fans could do well to remember that.

Us fangirls/geeks stick together. Always. :-)
